We stayed at the Devondell B & B for one night and thought is was the best B & B we stayed at during our whole trip to Ireland. Tucked away on a quiet cul-de-sac, yet within walking distance to pubs and restaurants. Berna was the best host one could ask for. She is so friendly, funny, and makes you feel very welcome in her home. The room was very comfortable, and the breakfast was unbelievable. We would definitely stay there again and recommend this B & B to anyone who will be staying in Galway.

Berna was such a beautiful person! She gave us a fabulous recommendation to a great pub with traditional music upon arrival. And then we woke up to by far the best meal I had on my whole trip to Ireland. Her cooking is outstanding and it was a wonderful way to kick off the day. If there wasn't so many places to visit in Ireland I would have loved to stay at her place longer. I highly recommend her cozy little B&B.

I booked this on recommendations from this site. Overall, it was great. Berna was extremely friendly and helpful; she gave us a lot of tips and suggestions on our itenerary for our time in Galway. She can sell tickets for excursions to the Aran Islands through the locally run ferry company, but unfortunately we were not able to go because of the weather. Breakfasts were fantastic, and she willingly altered her menus for us both mornings when we wanted something different. She had the best ruhbarb yogurt... The only thing I would change is the location. It is a good 10-15 minute walk to the city. Not terrible, but definately a hike, especially when returning late night from the pub. I wouldn't consider it a deal breaker, but it is certainly worth noting.

We stayed at Devondell a few nights ago and can only say how wonderful it was. Berna is one of the best hostesses ever and welcomed us with a pot of tea and platter of goodies, all taken in the comfort of the guest lounge. The location is convenient but quiet, the rooms are pretty and spotlessly clean, also well provisioned with personal care products. Breakfast has to be the best anywhere, served in style and including so many wonderful home-cooked treats. I can highly recommend not only Devondell and Berna's bubbly hospitality, but also her scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, delicious (and did I mention freshly-squeezed juice and home-made jams?).
