The best thing about the Devondell is the hospitality, graciousness, and friendly nature of its proprietor, Berna. She immediately makes you feel right at home in her quaint, comfortable, cozy, and very clean B & B.

One of the highlights of your stay at the Devondell will most certainly be Berna's breakfasts! They are delicious and the presentation absolutely exquisite. You will have your choice of things including finely made eggs, pancakes, and waffles not to mention daily muffins, scones, homemade muesli, baked banana, yogurt, and fruits all nicely laid out for you to enjoy. Breakfast is enjoyed in a room that overlooks the garden and yard.

If you're traveling to Galway, you should definitely stay at the Devondell. It is conveniently located within walking distance of the center of town and all the restaurants and bars, but far enough away to be quiet and very relaxing.

Devondell was the best B&B we've ever stayed at and we didn't want to leave. Berna's hospitality is top notch, she is extremely professional, informative and has a very cute witty sense of humor. She seemed to know everything about Galway and always pointed us in the right direction.

The B&B it'self is decorated stylishly and has a country but sophisticated feel to it. It is a little farther from the main B&B row, but I found that to be nicer as it wasn't in the middle of traffic. Devondell also has wireless connection which was very convenient.

The other reviews are accurate w/her breakfasts - they were unbelievable and we wanted to sit there all morning.

The group I was with were late risers, and Berna was still there making sure we were taken care of even though it was well into her late morning.

If we ever go back to Ireland, we are DEFINATELY coming back to stay & see Berna. I miss her & Devondell already :)

Devondell is situated in a seaside suburb of Galway called Salthill at the end of a cul-de-sac. However it is within easy walking distance of the Salthill township which has some good restaurants. There is off street parking too. Berna provided a warm welcome with tea and cake upon our arrival and made us feel at home. We also had a choice of rooms. The breakfasts were the best that we had had on our trip around Ireland and Berna is a superb cook. There is a choice each day on the menu and an extensive cereal and fruit selection too. Berna is very knowledgeable about the local sights and recommended a trip to the Aran Islands which we enjoyed. The room was good with an ensuite and free wi-fi access.
