Staff at reception exceptionally rude, hotel made mistake over a group booking and staff member seemed like he really wanted an arguement, weve just arrived and all we want is here is your key can we take your bags..

Spa is a real treat and is great and so is the hottub. If your going to the hotel just for the spa its shared with the cheaper hotel in front of it so your probably as well staying there..

Hotel bar in a nutshell is crap and the waiting staff behind the bar are very slow.

Room service, was consistenly late and breaksfast for two arrived breakfast for one..

We booked dinner in the hotel, we were not told it was going to be a buffet or that it was going to cost 60pp.. thats a very expensive buffet!!! 20 euro or 30 euro at best for a self service buffet.. we had dinner in Kirwans lane the night before between 6 of us and spent 50pp including 3 bottles of wine and fabulous food.. During the meal we were unable to get salt or pepper and when recieved it took 3 attempts to actually provide a salt or pepper shaker that wasnt empty!! When asked for the bill we got a jug of milk, maybe a language barrier but not really acceptable..

On plus side bed is huge but the room is nothing special, average..

Dont waste your money here go somewhere else

We stayed at this hotel earlier in 2006 and booked into a Level 5 room.

The level 5 service is worth the extra cost in my opinion. The hotel allows you to check in early, which due to early flights was useful. There are free spirits and wine available in the lounge area.

The room is large and has a DVD player and huge flat screen TV. Make sure you book a room with a view, as the rooms without a view just overlook a concrete/ industrial area.

The bathroom was lovely and very modern.

The price also includes a complimentary breakfast (hot if you go down to the restaurant) or continental if you have it in the level 5 lounge. The breakfast in the restaurant was very good, a buffet with nearly anything you want, very filling.

My only complaint during the stay was that I had food poisoning which I can only attribute to the room service as I had not eaten anything different from my partner that day. I was very sick the next day and the hotel would only refund the price of the item which I thought made me sick, rather than the whole meal, which I think would have been far more appropriate as I couldn't enjoy the holiday for a whole day.

Overall the location is very close to Galway town (5 minutes walk to the high street).

I visited the pool and it was good.

I would say the cleanliness was pretty good, but not exceptional.

Sleek, very clean, central location. Breakfast buffet was above average (food looked fresh and not tired and stewed like most buffets). Where it went wrong was the hotel seems to think having a piano player blasting tunes out until 1.30am (room door slamming stops about an hour later) is a good idea. We stayed on the second level and the noise was very loud.
The piano player is apparently some local star and we should have been happy to listen to this - apparently the louder you play the better you are in this neck of the woods, Management seem to know this is a problem but don't seem to think it necessary to tell folks in advance. At the end of the day management made efforts to rectify the situation. We'd go again but would insist on a room far from the maddening crowd.

6 of us stayed here for 2 nights at the end of November.

The person that checked us in was very nice & was helpful with answering our millions of questions. I was in a room close to the elevators on the third (?) floor. It looked out at the courtyard that’s shared w/the Radisson. I never noticed any noise & we even slept in the second day. The rooms are spacious and clean. We all commented on how large the beds were. Easily the largest bed I’ve seen in a hotel. It’s in a great location very close to Eyre Square without actually being on it. & After seeing some of the outdoor smoking areas for a couple pubs that were right underneath hotel rooms…we were glad we didn’t choose a hotel in the square. Breakfast was good. I’d stay again.

Brought the family to the Radisson in Galway for the weekend and had a brilliant time. Had a lovely room in the hotel for the first night. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the kids had a great choice on their own menu or could have smaller portions of the normal menu. We had dinner overlooking the lake beside the fire. The staff were really friendly and took time to talk to the kids rather than talk at them. The swiming pool was nice and warm and pretty big. My wife went to the spa for some treatments and came back floating. We had such a good time that we stayed on a second night. The hotel was full but they gave us one of their new two bedroom apartments which are in the hotel complex. They are more like a house with their own kitchen and a double bed in each bedroom. There are even three bathrooms. Definately worth the money. Had Sunday lunch in the restaurant and they have a play area for children with a small bouncy castle.
Kids want to go back in January and I have to say we are all looking forward to it.

  • Liked — The apartments had so much space and where so clean
  • Disliked — nothing
  • Tips/Secrets: — book early for weekends. hotel can be hard to get into
