Was very pleased with this location. Clean hotel, nice rooms, very affordable (we paid 83EUR a night) with a good free breakfast. Free parking in garage next door.

Location is very central to a number of good restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.

Just back from a weekend in Galway. We stayed at the Radisson Hotel close to the train station and the city centre. Great location! The breakfast was superb (although the plates were not hot enough) and, although we did not eat dinner at the hotel, a friend told us the food in the restaraunt was excellent. However the whole experience was spoiled by the noise from the function room. The thumping music kept up until after 3am two nights in a row. We were not warned about the proximity of our room to the function rooms and given the purpose of our trip-business- a lack of sleep was most undesirable. I would advise guests to avoid rooms 240 - 270 at the weekend and to ask about noise when booking.

A group of 8 stayed here in May 2006.

The good bits first.
The hotel is centrally located very near Eyre Square and bus/train station. The hotel has an underground park which is free to hotel guests.
The rooms are fine fitted out with what one would expect at the price. Minibar, trouser press, kettle etc. The rooms themselves are not particularly large.
The hotel has a leisure centre but since I did not visit it I cannot comment.
The breakfast menu is extensive

The bad bits
We had dinner on the Friday nightr in the hotel. The waiting staff themselves were OK but the food service was very slow. There was no apparent reason as the dining room was not particularly full. It took over threee hours to get through a four course meal. We mentioned it to the staff but there was no real explanation.

As other reviewers mentioned we hit a queue for breakfast on Sunday morning. I don't think this is acceptable given the price charged.

Price. 250 euro , per head, for two nights, two breakfasts and one dinner on a per person sharing basis.

A great, reasonably priced hotel, close to where you need to be in Galway. Rooms are big and comfortable, the staff is very accomodating, and the ameneites are top notch for the price. The parking is a real bonus (free overnight). I'd absolutely stay here again...however, it might not be for those travelers looking for a place with character, since this is much like any other nice mid-range hotel chain.

We were a couple looking to stay in Galway, in a modern and central hotel, and found the Fairgreen to be perfect, and for the price, we were very very pleasantly surprised. It is a very stylish hotel, with clean, spacious, modern rooms. The location is perfect as it is very easily located off the main roads into Galway, and is very close to both Salthill, and the main streets. So much is within walking distance from the hotel. The breakfast was excellent--super selection and well presented. Having access to the spa and fitness centre is a real bonus, and really adds to the hotel's offering.

Can't really say a bad word against the hotel! Had a super stay and will definitely be back.
