My group of four stayed in Galway for two nights in mid-November while visiting from the states. The Fairgreen Hotel was average for us as a group.
Upon arrival the check-in went smoothly and they directed us to park our car in the garage there (great price as we left the car there for the entire 2 days and it was only 8 Euro).
The rooms were good sized and comfortable beds but there is absolutely no view, the room smelled clean (because it smelled like toxic cleaners were used and had a strong chemical odor) and there is construction noise from the work going on next door.
The breakfast was good once you were able to get it. Breakfast was supposed to be served at 8am each morning but apparently that means that 8am is when they start setting up for breakfast. Normally this wouldn't have bothered me as much but the morning we were leaving for our next destination and wanting to get an early start we spent 15-20 minutes waiting for them to have breakfast set up before we could finally order.
The location was decent as it was only a 2-3 block walk to the city centre but there were definitely a few other hotels we wished we had considered as those were even closer.
All in all I am indifferent to this hotel. I would not dissuade people from coming here but would encourage them to explore other options as well since this hotel is very ordinary.
