Very convenient location on foot, and you won't get parked any more centrally in buzzing Galway. Very pleasant well-equipped room, good value booked on the net, and loved the leisure centre. Great fun steaming in the jaccuzzi outdoors overlooking Lough Atalia. Be warned restaurant books up quickly for dinner (it's excellent for a hotel restaurant). Buffet breakfasts offer an astonishing choice, well worth the price. Only one disappointment - we couldn't get the particular spa treatment we fancied, but it was short notice. Itching to go back for a spa weekend. We asked about the tariff for Glasgow Radisson on checking out - Glasgow was hugely more expensive.

Like another user below, I am surprised by some of the negative comments about this hotel in some of these reviews. We stayed in the Radisson in Galway for one night and really enjoyed our stay. I thought it was excellently placed - right beside the train station and one minute's walk from Eyre Square. The staff were all very pleasant and we loved the leisure facilities, making use of the pool, sauna and hot tub (which offers lovely views over Lough Atalia). Our room was a good size with decent-sized bathroom. Although lacking in aspect, I've no doubt that you could request a room overlooking the lake which would be lovely. We found the room to be spotless, and the breakfast plentiful and delicious. It's fairly pricey which is why I'm giving it 4 instead of 5, but I'd definitely stay there again.

We stayed at the Radisson for two nights during May 2005. Front desk upon arrival was understaffed and we were waiting a while to check in but girl was friendly. Room was adequate but a little cramped as there was a large all-in-one tv, minibar, iron etc unit which took up a lot of space at the end of the beds. Bathroom was lovely and was clean. Our main gripe was with the level of service - full of anticpation we happily made our way on the Saturday afternoon to the foyer bar/lounge only to be met with most of the tables requiring clearing and cleaning. I noticed another group actually clearing off the crockery from the previous partly themselves. Once we had sat down at our crumb-laden table no lounge staff seemed to be interested enough to take our order, we ended up going direct to the bar where a rather stressed looking barman exasperatedly took our order. It then took a further 30mins for the drinks to arrive. Another frustrated customer demanded to see the manager and after this a plethora of staff suddenly swooped out of nowhere to clear, clean and take orders. The breakfast was fantastic and the stay in general was very pleasant. It's just a pity that the level of service did not match the surroundings most of the time.

We stayed at the Radisson SAS in Galway in early May 2005 and found the hotel modern, clean and professionally run. Having booked through Expedia, we paid 150 Euro for a standard room (instead of the 220 Euro a night available directly from the hotel). While I there was little I could complain about - I certainly don't think the 220 rate is justified.

The only minor complaint I had was that our assigned room was directly above the reception area and in these post-smoking ban days in Ireland a continuous stream of addicts were gathered there to appease their habit. This resulted in some crowd noise which on the Saturday night in question lasted until about 4 am (due to a function taking place elsewhere in the hotel).

I had no problems with this hotel, in fact we had a great weekend, we had checked in with another hotel in the city centre but we were not happy so we found the Fairgreen Hotel, its a very central hotel, with modern decor and the staff were very friendly. I was also very impressed with our rooms, what a fabulous room for such a great rate, I will definately return...actually I have already booked a week in July...cant wait!!
