I had come in for a business meeting. The lobby area is a wonderful are to meet people. I understand they had just finished a renovation to it, and it is a warm and cozy place. It makes you want to stop and stay awhile.
My check in was fast and very friendly. The staff were very helpful and attentive. I had a lunch meeting in the Marinas restuarant and I must say that is was wonderful experience. Everyone can choose exactly what they want to get from the selection of the Le Marche.
Since I was footing the bill it was a very economical way to do business.
The room was beautiful. When I booked they told me the hotel was under renovations, but I never heard anything to bother my stay. My room was lovely and over looked the water. I can not wait to see what the new rooms will look like.
The facilities were great. It was so nice after a long day to work out in the gym and take a swim.
I did not have time to take any spa treatments, but I definatly will upon my return to the hotel. I did pop in to buy some of my favorite skin care products from them. They have a nice selection in stock.
My overall experience with this hotel was first rate and WILL be going back any time I am back in Galway.

I just had to write about the fantastic weekend I had with my sisters and friends for my hen party in November of this year.

I had been to Galway a few times before, but had never stayed in the Radisson. To me it seemed to be a very new hotel and building but I could see from entering the lobby area that they were in the process of giving a lovely hotel a little spruce up!!

The very friendly Front Office staff assured me that the renovations were cosmetic and would not interfere with our stay during the weekend, and she was right. No work went on over Saturday and Sunday and any little ladders ect were removed from the lobby area.

We had a FANTASTIC dinner on the Friday night and the resteraunt staff really looked after us all night and made sure our bottle of wine never ran dry!

On Saturday morning, after an utterly filling breakfast we arrived in Spirit One Spa. Some of the girls were being a bit cautious with their money with the "Recession" and they got a fantastic deal for 4 hours in the Thermal Suite where they could relax for the morning while myself and a few others had amazing treatments. The girls were so nice in there and made sure we were all looked after.

As a bride to be, I can honestly say I will be bringing my new hubby here for a romantic getaway as soon as possibe

My husband surprised me with a weekend break in Galway recently, and we stayed in the Radisson Hotel.
I was very pleasantly surprised with the location, decor and service we received.
When we arrived on the Friday, there was a number of staff members working hard on putting the finishing touches to the main bar, 'The Atrium', after what we were told was a complete refurbishment of it.
There were gorgeous brown leather seats, beautiful drapes and a cosy fireplace.
The lobby was also after receiving a face lift, which we also thought was lovely - very different!
The room we received was spotlessy clean, with a new LCD tv. We couldn't fault anything about the room, except perhaps a little on the small side from what we had expected.
The front desk staff did tell us though on departure that all of the guestrooms will be refurbished by early 2009.

The 'Super Buffet Breakfast' had an incredible array of items, including various types of seeds & nuts, fruit, yoghurts and cooked items. The eggs had just been replenished and we ate our fill!
Afterwards, we strolled down the town to do our Christmas shopping.

We didn't have an evening meal; deciding instead to dine in a restaurant in the city, but did avail of the new bar menu which had a lovely selection of sandwiches, burgers, fish & chips and salads.
I would highly recommend this hotel as a weekend break for a couple, and even as a girlie / hen break. I noticed in the Spa that they welcomed groups of women together, so obviously the 'R' hasn't hit this part of Ireland just yet!

The fact that we didn't have to move our car all weekend was a huge bonus - really made us feel like we had a break. We'll def be back to see the refurb rooms. Overall, great value for money and fantastic location.

Stayed here for two nights whilst on business in Galway last month.

The room was very nice and very comfortable. It was handy to have the car parking available at the hotel.

The service for breakfast was a bit slow and the buffet is plentiful, but was a bit over cooked and dry.

In general I enjoyed my stay - I just felt that service and staff friendliness were not as good as they could be.

We stayed in the Raddisson SAS Galway, for two night break in October, we booked it for it's convenient location, and because of Radisson's reputation. I have to say I was sorely disappointed.

Firstly the good points, the hotel is in a superb location, very central, and if you are the right side of the hotel, you have beautiful views of Lough Atalia. The staff were also very friendly.

We stayed in a good sized room with a wonderful view of the lough, however the funiture in the room was in a terrible condition, and the the TV table was badly stained and looked like it had been kicked up and down the Eyre Square, the writing desk was on the verge of collapse, the wooden floor was badly scratched. The curtains were off the rail. The bathroom was tiny, and would have been more suited to a dodgy B&B rather than a 4 star hotel.

When we arrived in the room, it looked like it hadn't been fully cleaned, there were no bathrobes, although there were slippers, the mini-bar hadn't been re-stocked, no biscuits, and the room was grubby. The travel cot which was left for our baby, had no bedding and blankets with it. There were dirty dishes on a room service tray left outside our room for two days. The selection of TV channels and movies iwas very poor.

On our first evening we ate in the bar, and the service and food was excellent, the second night the bar was booked for a private function so we were relegated to to a lounge area off the lobby, while the service was still friendly the the food was terrible. I ordered the striploin steak, at €26, and my wife the salmon for €24, the fish was bland and tasteless while I have to stay my steak was the worst I had ever.

We paid €160 a night expecting a 4 star standard, and what we got was well below par. The hotel is about 7 years old, and it has cleary not been maintained very well, although a refurbishment is talked about. The only thing the do well in the Galway Radisson is charge top dollar foor sub-standard service .Even when we spoke to the Duty Manager about our complaints he made it out that it was our fault, we should have reported our concerns straight-away, they would have changed the furniture, etc. My atitude was that I was there for a break, I was paying for a 4 star standard, and not receiving it. It was not my job to inspect the room, that should have been done before I arrived.

I'd really have to think seriously about staying in a Radisson SAS again, while I will not be going back to the Radisson in Galway ever.
