The Radisson stepped up to the plate when I arrived in Galway to find that the hotel I had booked had closed down in the meantimey. They even honoured the original rate.
Plenty of other plus points come to mind. My room was a bit on the small side, but was clean and comfortable. Facilities such as the bar and other public areas were attractive and modern. Reception and housekeeping staff were courteous and efficient, as were the bar staff.
Unfortunately, some minuses also need to be mentioned. The restaurant is badly organised and the staff there brusque. The layout is baffling too, so that it is far too easy to end up in someone else's meeting room!
The location is excellent with good access to local roads, the train station, and the city centre. This being the case, one can overlook the very unattractive area in front of the hotel - nothing more than a yard for coaches from all over Ireland and the UK.
