Nice hotel - clean and relatively stylish rooms, nice breakfast (well continental breakfast anyway), free parking, decent location (if it didn't rain all the time, but that's hardly the hotel's fault).
However, we booked a room and dinner package for the Christmas period. And the main meals provided buffet style were terrible. Same buffet Christmas Eve, C Day lunch for outside diners, C Day evening for residents, St Stephen's day lunch and (one change) dinner. OK for starters and desserts even if some of the starters looked like they went from one meal to the next. The potato and leek soup lasted through each meal. But the main courses were school or hospital canteen standard, a disgrace to a hotel like this. Warming trays of chicken, lamb, whatever, tepid thick gravy, the chicken as hard as bricks after several hours sitting there. And the vegetarian choice - pasta. Who thought spaghetti survived several hours being kept tepid. Looked and tasted really cheap - but unfortunately, you're a prisoner to this on Christmas breaks.
Staff perfectly nice and courteous though. Decent hotel let down badly by absolutely appalling food - which you are trapped in to having during Christmas breaks.
