“Music”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2014

Always go to this pub when I am in Galway, friendly bar staff, nice drink ect., but lately find that the music is not as good as usual. Some times they say there is music on and then there is not, maybe they just do not turn up. Bit the same old faces who never smile when they are playing and they do not look that happy when people want to join in < which happens in a lot of pubs>. Maybe they get better people to play in the tourist season....

“Good Advice from Tripadvisor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2014

We are in Galway for only one night and wanted to see & hear some traditional Irish music--and we did at Tig Coili. It was crowded--surprising for a Monday in February--but everyone was extremely friendly, and the music top notch. As an aside, there seemed to be an unusual number of drunk, stupid-acting young people out on the cobblestones, and the man at the door wasn't letting any of them in. Nice job, Tig Coili, on keeping the atmosphere as it should be.

“The best of the best...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013

My wife and I had just arrived from Dublin and were immediately directed to Tig Coili. We arrived a bit early but spent time examining the pub interior and chatting with the bar tenders. When the music began we knew we were in the right spot. We listened to the likes of Johnny "Ringo" McDonagh and Brian McGrath both legends in there own time. We got to meet and talk to both.

We came back for four straight nights. There were different musicians but some of the main players returned every night. We got to meet the son of the owner (Ronan) who is an excellent fiddle player. All four nights we were lucky enough to be seated inside the music enclosure or sitting just outside the rail.

If you ever have the fortunate experience to visit Galway, Tig Coili is a must visit especially after 9:00pm. We will be back for sure.

“MUST SEE, MUST LISTEN TO LIZIE AND FRIENDS”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2013

This pub is really the home of traditional celtic music. Lizie and friends are great! Even if you don´t drink beer, you must go! Unforgetable!

“Crooked Bar Tender”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013

We went for the music, which was quite good. However, the bartender took my 20 euro note, turned around, switched it for a 5, showed the 5 to me and said it wasn't enough to cover the cost of the drinks.
Beware!
