“Easy to Navigate,History Learned”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2015 NEW

Nice displays showing the history of Galway and the Galway Bay
An original "hooker ship" is suspended from the ceiling.
Nothing overwhelming just nice displays and interesting facts to learn

“Worth a stop in on a trip to Galway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2015

A good central location and free admission. We found it very interesting and good to see Padraig O Connor again after all these years. Good for kids too lots to see and interact with,

“Nice little museum for a rainy day”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2015

We popped into this museum as we couldn't find much else to do in Galway! It was free so not much to lose! Everything is exhibited very well and it has some fantastic views of the waterfront area. The kids enjoyed the interactive bit on the top floor. Never saw any staff though and we weren't welcomed in.

“Small but nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2015

Nearly missed this museum as the entrance is not easy to spot but it was well worth a visit. Takes you on a journey through the history of Galway and local areas and has special exhibitions on show. It has a lift for easy assess and a cafe in the same building. Very friendly staff.

“Great Day”

Informative. Easy to navigate. Helpful staff. Special events. A visitor to Galway should definitely add this as a place to visit.
