We stayed here during our vacation for 2 nights. While it's not the most convenient location if you are planning to visit Galway, the staff is great and rooms are very nice. Plus it's convenient to Galway Crystal Heritage Center for all the ladies who like a good reason to shop for crystal.

I can't say enough about the staff (especially the one's who work in the evening). The lady at the front desk was wonderful and full of information about where to go, where to park and what to skip.

Myself & my husband have just returned from a weekend at this hotel and are definately not planning a return visit. The hotel is by no means a 4 star standard. The rooms are very dated, not very clean and stink of smoke, the bathroom was filthy. Food was ok but that was about it. Wouldnt recommend it at all.

In August, we stayed at the Corrib Great Southern Hotel because it was part of our CIE Tour. We were originally scheduled to stay in Salthill, but we got downgraded for some unknown reason.

The hotel is located outside the city; nothing was in close proximity. We were not walking distance to any restaurants, cafes, shops, nothing.

Our room was a good size, plenty of space for our two suitcases. We had the basic amenities (coffee/tea, small TV, hair dryer). It seems the furniture, lamps, bed were in poor condition. We had a sunken old bed, the couple across the hall had a TV mounted on the wall, duct tape holding the TV remote together, and a very, very small room with two twin beds that had a view of the bus parking lot. The rooms could use some updating. Our room faced the front, which over looked the bay. We had a great big window that only opened a crack so no breeze got in. There was no fan in the room and there was no air conditioning. I worried about noise from outside interrupting our sleep, but the only real noise came from the hallway. There was a big gap under the door so you can hear lots of doors slamming shut. From the hallway you could hear every thing going on in the rooms.

The worst part of our stay was the small bathroom. There wasn't any counter space, the shower water pressure was poor and there wasn’t any hot water. The room across the hall had a sink that overlapped the tub.

I can say the front desk staff were extremely helpful and the bar is very, very nice. I doubt that I would stay here again. There are plenty of other hotels. However, Galway traffic is the worst, so it may be a good plan to stay outside the city.

if this is a 4 star hotel, i am an astronaut. i spent a night there with a group of other 27 people and everyone will tell you the rooms were old, dirty, stinky and a very poor staff. the only good thing was the view over the bay. We couldnt get a shower, nobody of my group did; rooms stink, towels were dirty, remote control didnt work. waitress serving you holding the fruit salad with a finger inside the cup. The location is very far from the center. A member of the group told me the morning after that he had to put perfume over the pillow to cover the stink. DONT GO THERE!
