Stayed for three nights in the Galway Hotel, and my lady and I had a wonderful time.

Staff in Resturaunt & Bar were very friendly, and unusually for Hotels these days, they actually looked like they enjoyed working there.

Thankfully Food in Resturaunt was excellant as my Lady friend tends to be a little judgemental on the Gourmet side!

The view overlooking Galway Bay was beautiful and if you like a nice walk in beautiful surroundings then then I can def highly recommend this hotel.

Takes only 10 minutes to get into City Centre which we did on the Sat night and had a great crack in the Kings Head.

Lovely place, great staff...now if they could only do something about the weather!

My wife and I stayed in the Galway Bay Hotel for 2 nights for a friends wedding and have to admit to being a bit disappointed with our stay. The Galway bay has an excellent reputation for its food and its luxury accommodation but we both found these to be less than 4-star during our stay. On our first night,we decided to eat in the hotel's "Cafe Lido",and we both agreed that our meal was one of the poorest either of us had eaten in a long time. I had fish & chips, with the fish being soaked in oil and the batter limp,whilst my wife had chicken wings which looked like they had been cooked the previous day. The meal wasn't cheap and we were left very disappointed (and hungry!). However,2 of our friend's ate in the main restaurant and said the food was wonderful so maybe we were just unlucky. As with most big hotels,the bar will also leave your wallet a lot lighter although it does have a bit of character to it,and we found the staff as a whole to be excellent.
Our room was "fine" but nothing to write home about,but maybe we just expected too much. Overall,the Galway Bay is an ok hotel in a scenic spot but we both felt we could have done a lot better for the money we paid.

We spent 2 nights with breakfast at this hotel and have no complaints whatsoever. While very busy the staff gave personal assistance and were all very polite and in good spirits. Great location and hotel facilities were excellent. Highly recommended. Would go back as our first choice of hotel

My husband and I were given a gift of a night at this hotel,( we wouldn't have paid 270 euro ourselves for bed and breakfast!). The hotel itself is very comfortable, and the staff were, without exception, polite, friendly and efficient.
The location is on the beach front; unfortunately there is a busy road between the hotel and the ocean, so it can be noisy. There is a funfair next door, so make sure your room does not overlook it!
The restaurant food was excellent, although it was noisy and not terribly romantic. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and breakfast.
When we went to check out, we had to queue for 20 minutes. The receptionist said that this was because of wedding guests from the day before and was quite common. We felt that if it was quite common, they should have planned ahead and made provision for a lot of people checking out at the same time. It was reminiscent of a certain budget airline which shall remain nameless!
