I spent a week in beautiful Galway last month. The city, county and people were fantastic! The service at the Galway Bay hotel was more than a match for them all! The hotel is situated in a wonderful location in Salthill, overlooking Galway Bay. The service we received there was absolutely fantastic. The food was fabulous and very reasonably priced. The thing that impressed me most about the Galway Bay Hotel was the staff. They were extremely helpful and polite to a man (or indeed woman!). I was envious of the people of Galway as I felt this is what we are missing in the UK; we may have lovely locations like Galway, and we may have top class hotels like the Galway Bay Hotel, but we don’t seem to have the same calibre of people working in our hotels. Their excellence made our stay an absolute pleasure and we are already planning a return trip next summer………..I cannot recommend it enough!

We recently stayed in the Galway Bay for a wedding and while we were very happy with the facilities, food and room, we had major problems with our booking on arrival.
We had booked a room 2 months in advance on the hotels own website and got a great deal on the price.
The booking was confirmed by e-mail and a deposit was taken out of our visa card.
However on arrival we were told that there was no booking in our name. I had not printed out the confirmation so we were forced to leave all of the other guests to enjoy the champagne reception while we powered up our laptop on the reception desk in order to prove to the receptionist that in fact we did have a booking. About 40 minutes later when we finally got all of the information together, she conceded that we had in fact booked and muttered something about having to put someone else out of their room.
This was entirely unacceptable and we were really annoyed at having to prove the booking as they did not seem to be able to check their own systems.
When I mentioned this to a friend he said that he had the same experience with a number of relatives who had travelled a great distance. Their rooms were also not booked even though they had been sent confimation numbers and the deposits had been paid.
The Galway Bay need to sort our their booking systems ASAP!

My boyfriend organised a surprise birthday present for me by taking me down to Galway Bay Hotel. I never regreted his choise! From moment we arrived to spend our weekend we were very well looked after. Room was clean and cosy with softes duve I ever slept under! We had our dinner in Lobster Pot Restaurant. Menu had a good choice for every course and food tasted absolutely great! We went for dinner on second night there as well and we weren't dissapointed. Hotel staff was very helpful and cheerful. I deffinately will recomend this hotel to anyone who wants to not just to spend money but to get a great service and lots of fun!

Usually I'd never say this but lucky for my girlfriend and I that we were over booked in a B&B.
The Galway Bay was suggested and at first I was apprehensive because of money but it was very reasonable for a fancy place.
Excellent view and as the receptionist knew we had no where else to stay she was very accomodating.
Definately worth a visit if not for the food alone!
