Doesn't look fantastic from the outside and the hall and stairs and a liitle outdated. the rooms are modern , clean and very comfortable. the reception staff were friendly and they handled a group of 15 lads very easily. breakfast was buffet but served to you so the bacon was a bit leathery but other that that it was fine. would recommend

The location is great. The bar and regular bartenders are great. That's the end of the positives and not nearly enough to convince me to go back or recommend this hotel. The staff at reception is aloof and inattentive. The rooms are small and outdated. The noise from the club next door, from the street and from inside the hotel is unacceptably loud. Some minor improvements to prevent slamming doors and reduce noise transmission through the windows would go a long way to improving the experience.

The location of this hotel was great, a half block from Eyre Square. The room was small but clean. The hotel bar was fun and had free internet access (it was not available in the rooms). The biggest complaint we had about the hotel was the noise from the nightclub located behind the hotel. Because the hotel did not have a/c, we slept with the window open. We listened to dance music for several hours before finally being able to fall asleep. Thankfully we only heard the music on Wednesday night (Tuesday was quieter but not quiet). In the morning we had the loveliest smell of cinnamon rolls that drifted in through the window. It was a nice way to wake up. While the location and value was good, it certainly wasn't quiet and service from the staff was just average.

I stayed in the Eyre Square hotel over the bank holiday August weekend. I found the staff extremely courteous, accomodating and could not fault them in any way (unlike it seems other posts on this page..). It is true the accomodation is basic and can be noisy - be it from the pub across the way or the thinness of the walls which means if you have noisy neighbours you will hear them - but the rooms were clean and good value for money. Breakfast was substantial and varied. The location of this hotel is its best asset - and for that reason, notwithstanding noise, I was very happy with my stay there.
