“Excellent location!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

Before i got there i had no idea where we were located in town, but after walking around i found out it had the BEST LOCATION, from Eyre Square you can pretty much walk everywhere, and another highlight about staying here, the Free Walking tour of Galway departs everyday just outside of the lobby, which gives you a great deal of information about the place. Tha staff in the hotel was very nice and eager to help. The breakfast menu was simple but very good, irish breakfast, pancakes, etc. The only thing is that you can hear the music and noise from a club some nights but not so much as not to let you sleep. Would definitely stay there next time, no need to look further!!

I really liked this hotel! The room weas clean & well appointed & the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast provisions were excellent & the staff were great. I think that, while the hotel is located in the perfect location, it does suffer a little from the noisy local night club & train station.......but there's nothing that the hotel can do about that........& they do tell you on the website & upon booking. I would stay here again & wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the side of the hotel if night club noise bothers you.

Went here for a stag party. We were greeted nicely and from our first impression the hotel seemed nice. A clean bright reception area, friendly receptionist all looked good. We were assigned room 103 and off we went. Room was dated but OK. Ceiling needed some paint as someone had missed a big patch!!

Went down to the bar and had a few beers(not to pricey) and then some food. I'd recommend the lasagna. Bar was big, open, clean and real comfortable. Staff were OK. British guy was a bit rude. They need to realise there is more than one end to the bar also. No one down where they were standing and 12 paying customers down the other end who had to actually shout to get attention. Not good enough considering the amount spent and the place was empty!

Worst part about the room was it was so stuffy and as it was a smokers room(I am not a smoker) so could not close the window and that meant non stop traffic, shouting people and the noise of the intercom from the bus station.

This is an amazing location for travelers who are arriving by bus (the coach station is right around the corner) or want to be within a 5 min walk of the city centre. Front desk staff was nice. Our room was small and dated but clean. We were near the outdoor kitchen vent and our room smelled like fried chicken (which was a little weird and made us hungry :). I was surprised to find that the wifi had been extended from the lobby up to the rooms (good connection).
As for the noise, yes -- it is loud at night. We were on the 2nd floor towards the back on a Saturday & Sunday night, and the nightclub sounds from below were pretty bad. I thought it would be better on Sunday night, but it wasn't. And it wasn't just a faint thumping bass sound, it was so loud I could recognize each song. We tossed and turned until it stopped around 2am. If you can get a good deal and need to be close to the city, make sure to grab some ear plugs.

I really liked this hotel. First off getting there. This was my first time driving, I was very nervous about driving into the city of Galway, the people at the desk were most helpfull, and even stood outside and waited as we approached. We were able to unload and then they directed us to a near carpark, where we received a good discount . Our first room was huge and wonderful windows that looked over Eyre square, but be aware at night it can be noisy, with SuperMac right next door, and being in the center of it all. I found their continental breakfast the best in any hotel I had in Ireland. I also liked having the TV play the news while I sat and ate breakfast. The bar and restaurant were great as well, and you can purchase beer for upstairs if needed. If you really want to be in the center of Galway, this is a great choice.

Room Tip: in the back for quiet. The top floor front room has the best views

You really don't expect to not be able to plug in your phone next to the bed. Like so many other folks I Use my iPhone as an alarm lock a d always charge it overnight next to the bed either at home or in the road but a round three-pin plug socket loose and away from the wall with a danger of electrocution is NOT ACCEPTABLE

A one night stay and a pretty awful Place to to try and pull up outside and unload. They have a discount with the nearby Q Park car park but I if have a lot of stuff in your car then a walk to to the hotel with your gear. Rooms are clean enough but as usual a so gle business traveller is given a small room opposite a busy bar and convenience store.

Food in the bar: pretty average fayre and I suppose what you should expect at this price hotel. Seafood chowder with soda bread, passable but perhaps a bit tepid. The chicken fillet burger, burnt bun, burnt chicken, far too much in melted grated
Cheese and too much mayo and and underdone French fries. Not good. Long drive, long tiring day and too tired to complain. Left here and went to The Quays for something to eat. Next visit in eight weeks will be somewhere else in Galway
