While the location was pretty good, and the room was adequate, meals were somewhat problematic, and housekeeping left our door open. Galway is a nice place, and we enjoyed the arts festival. However, we were very disconcerted to return from a daytrip to find that our door was not only not locked, it was ajar and had been for most of the day. The management was appropriately apologetic, but never offered any compensation. Probably wouldn't stay here again.

stayed for 2 nights- v central location, nice meals + service, helpful staff + decent size rooms but stay was tarnished by the night club in the hotel that goes on til 3 ish in the morning. we were on the 3rd floor but music was still v loud. if u are planning late night drinking sessions while staying here then this wont effect u + this is a great hotel, otherwise ....

I recently stayed at The Victoria Hotel, Galway and I really enjoyed every aspect about my stay. From the moment we checked in we felt welcome and at home. The room was very spacious and very clean. We enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant and staff catered to our every need. We were informed about the nightclub so we decided to check it out and I have to say, to our surprise we throughly enjoyed it. I highly reccommend this hotel as is a home away from home

After travelling around for some weeks in Ireland we decided to stay in Galway, Victoria Hotel for a couple of days. On one hand there was the bus station directly below the window where the buses started early in the mornings (what is okay so far) but the drivers let the motors run more than half an hour in advance. Relaxing during the holidays in those days was impossible. It was awfully noisy and stinky :-( And the other - almost funny story - happened at breakfast: enough of the full Irish breakfast we looked at the menu where a continental one was offered as a buffet and with a selection of cold meat and cheese. Oh, what a nice change, I thought! Well, there was no selection at all and the cheese came grated (!!!) on the plate :-(

So we do not recommend this hotel.
