Booked into this b&b for the weekend after seeing it in a travel book and their website. It is nothing like the advertisements!! For €100 we were given the smallest double room. It was unclean and most probably a fire hazard as wires were exposed in the room.

Breakfast was a joke, insisted on us ordering the evening before but received a totally different breakfast the next morning. There was no juice, no glasses, no butter, no toast - had to ask for everything - still waiting for the toast!!

We had booked for 2 nights but checked out after the 1 and booked into a hotel - a total rip off.

Stayed in Ashford Manor on 15th April 2007. Had informed them that i was staying alone. I was put in an attic room at the very top of the building even though all the other rooms did not seem to be full. In my time there i only saw two other guests. The room had a skylight which had no blind or curtain and was looking out onto the roof. The other little round window was looking out onto the sky!! - Some views
of Galway!!

The breakfast was very basic - no selection, just orange juice, a couple of different cereals. I asked for cooked breakfast and in my opinion this was heated in a mocrowave. The only staff i saw or spoke
to were foreign and knew nothing, but could take the money €45 on my arrival.

This place was totally different from that advertised on its webiste.
When i asked about the owner the foreign girl did not know!

  • Liked — Its location to the city centre
  • Disliked — I was put in room at the top of the building with no window views (only to the sky)

We stayed in this B&B for 1 night, it cost 80Euro. The room was very small, large velux window with no blind or curtain, soap in soap dispenser was horrible and not any good. Shower head had string tied to it. Bedside lights did not work. Breakfast was not edible.

When you look at the Ashford Manor Website you assume you are going to be staying in this beautiful house but we were not, our room was accross a rear courtyard and in another house altogether. The room was tiny, there were ants crawling all around it! The shower was broken, the valance sheet on the bed was filthy. The room was at street level and the windows had no blinds so we had to keep the curtins closed all the time. When we went for breakfast the next morning the dining room looked very plush and luxurious but there were ants crawling around the table, there were even two IN the butter dish! At 90 euros for a double room this B & B is a disgrace....

Arrived and were asked to choose our breakfast for the next morning?
We were given a large room with a double bed and 2 single beds. The bathroom was far from being the cleanist with a tiny shower/no tub and a fully carpeted bathroom that grossed me out.

The noise!!! There were a lot of families staying there and we heard children screaming practically the whole time we were there. It didn't help that I developed a cold and was trying to get some rest.

We were so tired/sick we never made it down for the breakfasts the two days we stayed there.

It was close enough for us to walk to the city center and to walk (with our luggage) back down to the train for when we left.
