We have had a number of weekends away at the Ardilaun. What I like about it is that it is child friendly but we dont feel we are at a kids party. Really could say they cater very nicely for the kids without compromising adult service also. Therefore its a delightful location for adults with or without children.

Rooms lovely and spacious
Foyer always something happening, you can relax in the corner with a book and be aware of the world going on around you but at a comfortable distance.
Food - restaurant standard food is offered at hotel package rates - a pleasant surprise.
Bar - nice bar menu with very pleasant service as a welcome alternative from the restaurant
Leisure Centre - a happening place

Theres also functions and events taking place but they didnt bother us in any way - its nice to be in a place thats busy, great for people watching

Staff and management, warm and welcoming in an informal but professional kind of way.

Stayed here for a short business stay. I was in room 412 that had a view of Galway Bay over the tree tops. It has two beds. The bathroom was large, but the shower had very low water pressure.

Breakfast was filling. Overall, was pleased with the hotel, but it really shouldn't be called a 4 star hotel.

The hotel is only a short 15 minute walk to Salthill and 20 minute walk into Galway city center.

I stayed here last week as part of a work trade show. I just wanted to say that the staff were very friendly and very helpful.
My room was nice, a little bit noisey as I was near the carpark at the back of the hotel but I wasnt disturbed too much. The room had 1 double bed and one single. They had tea making facilities, trouser press & iron board. Plenty of storage. The bathroom was also big, might need a bit of regrouting and the shower curtain could do with changing but still very clean and the power shower was good.

We had lunch(provided by trade show) it was very nice and we had dinner there in the evening. Again the food was very nice and the staff couldnt do enough for you.

The receptionist on check was lovely and the reception area was inviting. The room was nice enough. The staff were friendly enough. I didn't really see the 4 star in it. I went with my daughter for a mid week break and while we enjoyed it you were paying four star prices for what I felt was really 3 star surroundings. Simple things like we booked a table in the restaurant for dinner when we arrived at bang on 8.30pm we had to wait for a table to be set for us even though there were 9 other tables free we could have sat at already set. I stay away quiet often and don't mind paying if I am getting what I pay for I wouldn't be in a hurry to go back.

My family and I stayed in the the ardiluan for a few nights b&b and evening meal as were attending a wedding function in the hotel . On arrival we found the receptoin area homely and inviting ,the staff were friendly professional and very efficent. We had three rooms booked two smoking and another non smoking . Having accessed my room on the third floor my wfe and i were very dissapointed ,as the decor etc in our view was not of a four star standard there was no lid on the toilet cistern u can imagine the noise when it was flushed . In my daughters room on the fourth floor the shower did not work she had to use the shower in our room ,also the we were unable to open the window which was jammed almost shut the room was dark very cold .The remaining room was of a similar vain . We had dinner in the dinning room after check in we had a lovely meal the staff were very friendly and likewise at breakfast . I also used the leisure centre facilities which were first class . I have stayed in Galway many times over the years in B&B's and other hotels but these rooms are just not up to the standard . I will not be staying the the ardiluan again it has four stars in its advertising brochure how the tourism board allows this is beyond understanding . The public areas were beautiful magnificent function room and reception area friendly and efficent staff if the rooms were up to standard i woul not be writing this negative review .
