For us, this place was the perfect balance of elegance and fun; solitude and liveliness; and rural and urban access. The coastal view was stunning, and the hotel had areas for quiet activities as well as athletic pursuits. The manager was one of the best I've seen as he personally attempted to speak with every guest at breakfast or while in the public spaces of the hotel. Speaking of breakfast, the food at this hotel was some of the best that we had on our trip. We found our room to be clean and adequately up to date. There were some items beginning to show age, but overall the room was fine. We would definitely come back to this hotel.

Just back from a weekend break in Connemara Coast Hotel in Furbo, Galway. The room was OK, have stayed in better but the veiws and the restaurant made up for it. Our room was a smoking with a view of the Aran Islands. From now on I'lI always get a non-smoking room, the smell realy lingers. On arrival we were upgarded to a superior room, which was nice but the ceiling paint work needed touching up and there was paint peeling above the shower area. The bed was massive and very comfortable. The restaurant was amazing one of the best so far and the staff are very plesant. The guest areas are very plush perfect for lounging in. There is a lovely walk straight out of the hotel along the coast with sheltered sitting areas perfect for watching the Atlantic. Our room was overlooking the tennis courts and the laundry area which we didn't notice until Sunday morning so it was very quiet. The room was turned down every evening and a weather forcast for the following day supplied. Overall verdict very good.

I have stayed in this hotel twice. Once in a week end away and once for a staff party. Both times I just saw it as little more than an indifferent place to stay but it had its good points. I didn't like the room either time I stayed. It was just small and out of date. The T.V. was as old as myself but it was clean. The lobby is unique but in a great way. The restaurant prides itself in good service both for breakfast and dinner, try the cinnamon coated deep fried apple slices for breakfast they are divine! The waiters were very personal and we had lunch on one of the stays and was impressed with the sizes of the portions but balked a little at the prices. The hotel itself is a little out of the way with a great view of the ocean (you can walk down to the edge.) The receptionists the first time were great but the second time when a bunch of us arrived they were no more interested in the personal touch. the bar staff were very chatty almost to a fault, which I would normally like but I just wanted some time to myself and mine. I would probably go back again with some persuasion but they try and thats all you ask.

We stayed for 2 nights, b + b , and evening meal in this hotel with a brethtaking view of the aran islands. its in a beautiful loaction out of the hustle and bustle of galway city yet close enough to take in shopping socialising that it has to offer. it is a great base if you wish to sample the scenery which connemara has to offer. ( its a must )
The restaurant in the hotel was lovely. staff made the night an experience to remember and again the view did its bit too. breakfast both mornings was similarly enjoyable and greatly welcomed after a trip to the leisure spa and fitness centre. all in all our weekend was most enjoyable and the hotel is recommended. time just seemed to fly by there, looking forward to returning already!

I recently stayed with a group of friends at the Connemara Coast Hotel having heard a rave review about it from a work colleague who had attended a conference there earlier in the year. We were not to be disappointed, this hotel has undoubtedly one of the most picturesque locations in the West, it is located right on the shores of Galway Bay overlooking the atlantic ocean. It is only ten minutes from Galway city which was ideal for us as we spent an couple of evenings in town and another two evenings exploring the local restaurants and bars. On our second night we had an excellent dinner in the hotels fine dining restaurant and afterwards went into the bar for a couple of drinks where they had live music, there was a lovely atmosphere and a great mix of people from locals to other hotel guests, the craic was mighty. From the minute we arrived the staff could not have been nicer or more genuine. They made us feel very welcome. The accommodation was luxurious, spacious and well decorated, the rooms seemed very new and fresh and wait for it... best of all, all of our rooms had the most amazing views.. what a sight to wake up to in the morning!
This hotel caters very well for those on a leisure break, they served breakfast very late which was great for a few of my friends who were there to relax and unwind. While they went for a massage in the treatment rooms and afternoon tea in one of the hotels lounges, a few of us played a round of golf in Bearna golf club which is only a couple of minutes from the hotel and went back for a swim and a dip in the outdoor hot tub ....what an experience, the sun was setting over the bay , it was a perfect evening. We can't wait to go back!
