We stayed here between Christmas and New Year as we have done on two previous occasions and it made for a relaxing break. Our children (aged 5 and 8) love this hotel for the kids club and swimming pool. They had tea with other children at 5.30 and then were taken off for supervised games, art and a DVD while we had dinner in the "adults only" (oooer) restaurant. We have always been impressed with the standard of food here, fairly sophisticated and much better than average hotel food.

We had two interconnecting rooms so plenty of space and not much price difference than getting one family room. The best value here are the "packages" they offer e.g. three nights B&B plus 2 dinners. Rooms are comfortable, if nothing to write home about, and most have good views of Galway Bay.

The gounds offer a beautiful walk by the sea, weather permitting, and the outdoor hot tub in the leisure centre is a great place to watch a Connemara sunset!

One of the best things about this hotel though is the staff. We have always found them to be extremely friendly, attentive and helpful, often going out of their way to make you feel at home. We ate in the bar on the first evening, where there is a limited menu. One of the desserts listed was a selection of ice cream. I asked the waitress if there was any sorbet available but she said sorry, no. I decided against dessert but when she brought dessert for my husband she presented me with a dish of delicious apple sorbet which she had found for me. Nice touch!

I'm sure we will be back to the Connemara Coast.

I walked into this hotel on bank holiday Monday to see if they had a double room available for that night and how much it would be. To my surprise I was told 89euro per person sharing per night B&B!!! So they were looking for 178euro for a double room for a bank holiday Monday night in October when the hotel was empty - crazy or what?? Anyway, I promptly left and booked in the fabulous Galway Harbour Hotel where I enjoyed my stay for 99euro for 2 people including breakfast.

Stayed in the hotel in October 2007, wasnt impressed at all, although the staff were courteus I was expecting a lot more for the money we paid.
I’ve seen a lot nicer 3 star hotels, the hotel claims to be 4 star which isn’t true.
They have a fancy website which gives an impression of luxury and we got really disappointed when we discovered that the hotel isn’t anything the website claims it to be.
Old, worn out decor, disappointing breakfast and overpriced accommodation and extras such as internet which you had to pay €5 (!) were disappointing. Will visit Connemara again but next time will stay in different hotel.

Its 7am. The nip in the air gives my goose bumps goose bumps. The mist that is rolling in from the sea soaks my hair in an instant. The smell is a curious mix of heather , sea , and ozone. Welcome to paradise, or at least a little corner of it that is the outdoor hot tub at the Connemara Coast Hotel.

For as long as I holiday, I will always return to this absolute haven. Staff that welcome you back, remember your name and make a huge fuss of your children. You can't help but be impressed. The many open fires, quirky nooks, and the mezzanine library are all perfect for a quiet read or drink. The breakfasts are to die for (your waistline wont thank you!!) your set up for the whole day. Ready amends can be made by taking one of the many walks in this beautifully unspoilt area. After suc, where else but return to said hot tub. Sitting gorgeously warm, watching the evening mist roll down towards the crashing atlantic, it is peacefull, as my whole stay was.

Thank you to all at the Connemara Coast for helping me recharge and rejuvinate myself.

We booked and stayed in an Executive Room which was really big but very old fashioned (in a bad way). The shower grouting was black, the heating did not work and the sink was blocked. Because it was a weekend we were told the maintenant staff were off!!! It was very expensive to stay there and not at all worth it. The only saving grace was the staff in the restaurant who could not have been nicer but the food could. The reception staff were very dour and unapproachable. I definitely would not stay there again.
