Il start with the positive : Friendly staff but very young and not experienced. Very inviting Entrance and reception with lovely leather sofas and the christmas decorations looked gorgeous. Good location close to town but should change its name from the Harbour Hotel to the Docks Hotel as there is no view of the Harbour and it is a very busy industrial area.
On a negative note ( yes the above was positive)

The bedroom was too small and very basic more like a travel lodge standard 3 star!
The Carpet was stained and very unpleasant needed to be replaced.
The Bathroom was not up to scratch.
The radiator worked when it felt like it.
There was no air conditioning in the room so the windows would have to be left open to freshen up the room and that was not ideal at night because of the noise.
There was a constant thumping noise it sounded like a boiler and it made noise throughout the day and kept us awake at night.
The walls were very thin and You could hear EVERYthing..particularly people coming back from town late at night.
The Douvet cover was rubbish and kept coming off and the valance sheet seemed to be too small for the bed.
The reason why we decided to go 4 star was because we wanted leisure facilities....And for our stay the jacuzzi was out of order and the staff did not seem very rushed in repairing it and we were there from wed-sat it should have been repaired in 24 hours...That was very very annoying!
The breakfast was alright scrambled eggs were a bit dodgy and the sausages were kinda pale? and the pudding was very strange ....was that real orange juice because it tasted like orange juice mixed with grapefruit juice.
The restaurant was hot and uncomfortable with a very unimagintive menu! We ate in the bar on the first night and the quality of the chicken caesar salad was awful! The chicken was the worst i have ever tasted and the salad was very soggy.
We didnt eat there again.
This hotel is ideal for a cheap/low budget mini break.
You have to be prepared for 3 star quality and if you are ok with this there its ideal for you.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Public areas quite noisy and impersonal. Almost caused a riot when we arrived and asked if the restaurant was still serving (website states 10pm) at 9.45pm - was told no but got permission from manager to eat some bar food if we ordered before 10pm! We proceeded immediately to the bar to be told that the kitchen was closed - we explained our agreement with manager but was told that it was up to the kitchen personnel to decide if they would serve us!! Eventually we got served mediocre pub grub with attitude from staff. Also the bar advised us the following day that they did not have any kind of orange in stock. Bedrooms are small and while clean, feel worn and tired.
Overall not a great experiance and needless to say we will not be back!

I have stayed in this hotel twice & i loved it both time & will definitely be returning. The location is excellent (just a side street off shop street). The hotel's decor is really modern & the staff were friendly on both occasions. we had bar food on both occasions which was nice. Breakfast is okay.

The bedroom in my opinion is really modern & stylist. They have a car park for the guests which is also a bonus.

Hope this is helpful....

Found this hotel through a "trusted" travel book recommendation. Hotel is very worn. From the rugs to the beds, badly in need of renovation. Rooms are small, but clean enough. There is wi-fi. Staff is accomodating. Overall very noisy - hall noise and street noise is easily heard in the rooms. Not a place for good rest. Close enough to the Galway center - but there are many better choices for the money.

arrived in Galway in the late afternoon with no accommodation booked...staff here were helpful and friendly (esp. Cecilia). The hotel provided free car parking. Very comfortable room with cosy bedding and roomy bathroom. Free wireless internet available in all rooms and lobby. Great lounges and fireplaces in lobby. Traditional irish breakfast served in dining room or to your room...recommend dining room so you can have seconds and not need lunch! Walking distance to everything.
