Very nice, clean and modern hotel. Our room did not have a view, but it was still great. Very comfortable beds, clean and spacious bathroom. Great food and friendly service. Self-park. Easy walk into the main part of town.

I have stayed at the Harbour hotel many time before though not very recently. On this trip it became obvious that the hotel has not aged well. First off charging € 139 for what is essentially a rather small room with no air-condition (it was actually quiet warm for September), no mini bar or any other extras is just over the top. Check in was effortless and friendly. The carpets in the common area on my floor were in a serious need of cleaning or replacements. The same had to be said for the room. It was not as clean as one could have expected. The vacuum apparently did not reach behind the curtains. Room 212 had drink stains splashed against the wall from a previous occupant and the bathroom was not clean. That's not what I expect for that price, come to think about it at any price. The bed was comfortable though these days pure nylon sheets are a bit of a no no.
I had breakfast in the room which was fine. The requested newspaper arrived as well though also appeared on the bill. It is those things that let the hotel seriously down. A bit more service and extras would be appreciated by the business traveller. Check out was less friendly and definitely not service orientated. The staff's attitude could do with some extra training.
I probably will not chose the Harbour Hotel again.
Stayed here for one night at the beginning of July. The room was facing the back of the hotel and was perfectly fine. The bed was comfortable and the room very clean. Had a great night sleep. The room had a double bed a single bed similar to most tourist class hotels. As it was a quick stopover we didn't sample the facilities. The info pack in the room stated the bar closed at 1am but when we returned at 12.30am it was closed and we were told there was no drink available. No big deal but a little irritating. Buffet breakfast was adequete but I've had better. Overall I would recommend this place as it's location is very central and by Galway standards is reasonable enough. Staff very friendly and helpful on check in and out so deserve a mention.
Came across a couple of good reviews on this hotel. However, it has to be one of the worse hotels i have ever stayed in Ireland. For Eur189 per night, this so called 'boutique' hotel was nothing but a glorified tourist class hotel with bad service. Our room was facing the main road and because there was no air-con, we had to leave the window open and be exposed to the traffic noise all night! Breakfast the next day was bad with boling plates which guests had to try and lift from the buffet table with tissues. The only plus was the location to town. THAT'S ALL.
Just back from a 2 night stay at the harbour hotel. The hotel was in a great location just minutes walking distance from the city center. The staff were very friendly and the hotel was very clean and modern. The room was clean with a comfortable bed and had everything you need. I would defently go back to galway and would recommend the Harbour Hotel. The hotel carpark is a secure carpark and is free which is an added bonus.
