Just back from a nice vacation.
Hotel = Lovely rooms, cosy beds
Food = Excellent. Ate on the first night as part of the package and came back for more on the second.
Value = Very reasonable
Leisure = Huge Disappointment about no pool although spa itself was great
Location = Just a 5 Min walk to the shops although the Spanish Arc is always full of down and outs and the bar on the docks looked full of low lifes with the Gardai making an arrest at 11.20 AM which was not very pleasant when out for an after breakfast stroll.
However that is the way Ireland has become with the Drinking now very close to out of control.
The hotel did seem to have a lot of groups of lads whether this is common or just the time of the year I don't know. All in all a very nice place

Arrived at the hotel for a two night break - good location and pleasant enough rooms although for 160 Euro per night i would expect more than the "travelodge" size and style of room. Location in Galway very good - close to Spanish Arch and Eyre Square. The main problem about this hotel is that the walls of the rooms are paper thin and unfortunately a large group of people on a hen weekend were put into the rooms surrounding ours - therefore from 2am - 5am we were kept awake by the shouting and music blaring out! Despite numerous requests to keep the noise down and calls to the night porter this continued. This problem could have been easily prevented by putting couples / families away from groups who are understandably there to have a good time. We checked out first thing in the morning after breakfast (very standard quality) and checked into the Radisson which was fantastic for only 50 Euro more per night. This hotel is perfect for a group weekend away such as a hen / stag weekend but i would definitely not recommend it to those looking for a relaxing trip!

We recently stayed at this hotel on a sunday night. It has secure parking in a well lit car park behind the hotel with a rear entrance leading from parking bay into the hotel.

The facilities are very good and it is a nice bright and pleasant place to be. The room was on the second floor and had everything a good hotel should have. There was information left in the room about things such as room service, menus etc. There was also a magazine giving a complete list of everything to do in the area, shops and nightlife.

The best thing about this hotel is that it is only minutes walking distance from all the shops you could want. There is a great variety of shops, pubs, restaurants. in that area. ( for anyone who does not know Eyre square)

Although the room rates are high the price is justified by what's on offer and it's proximity to Eyre Square.

The nightlife in the area is very good and easy to walk to. I have rated this hotel as excellent and that is because I could find no fault
as it had everything that I needed. P.S. I forgot to mention that you are beside the sea and Salthill is nearby.

Journey wise it was easy to travel to as the hotel can be approached without going through the city centre.

My fiance & I stayed there a while ago (2002) but we are planning on staying again on our trip in August. He's from Ireland (Athlone) but his brother lives in Galway and always suggests the Harbour Hotel. Loved the room---down comforters and very spacious (it was winter).
Here's a tip: go directly to the Hotel's website to get great rates: ---- (approx $150 less than any sites I tried). And they provide free parking!

I have stayed at the Galway Harbour Hotel on 3 separate occasions. This hotel offers great value for money. It's conveniently located just 5 minutes walk from Shop Street and Eyre Square. Bedrooms are clean and comfortable. Rates include breakfast and dinner. There is also free parking behind the hotel. In comparison to other hotels in Galway city this one is definitely great value for money.
