Stayed for one night in June. It is a nice modern, trendy looking clean hotel. If you want an irish traditional style hotel this is not for you. However, if you want european modern and comfortable, and somewhere central and are in Galway for the nitelife this is hotel for you. It was full of overnighters for concerts, hens, stags, weddings and birthdays etc so quite lively. Maybe not for those wanting a relaxing and quiet stay. Having said that now it wasnt all rowdy and noisy either. The rooms were modern, nice comfortable beds, big clean bathroom with plenty of toiletries. I had no complaints. Has a few drinks in the bar which has a nice atmosphere. Bar food wasnt great thought. The residents bar was open until about 4am on a saturday night so we got drinks after the nightclub there. Always found all staff pleasant. Breakfast was lovely very enjoyable and plenty of choice even when last down and no bother to anyone to get us what we wanted even if we were cutting it down to breakfast at last minute. Locationwise the hotel is few mins from Eyre Square so is walkable everywhere which is a big plus for me. I would definately stay here again.

Stayed here for a wedding. Located within walking distance of Eyre Square. We had a great breakfast. The staff are friendly and the breakfast was good. You have to pay for parking. The bar was full of people lots of Stags and hens floating around.

  • Liked — Location and very clean
  • Disliked — Stll hungry after dinner.

I have stayed here several times as it the hotel by job uses when we are in Galway. After my (and other's) continuing complaints they have changed to a different hotel.

The rooms at the front of the hotel are very noisy, you are woken up before 6 every morning large trucks coming off the docks. I heard several people complaining about this and each time the staff member acted surprised and said nobody had complained before.

The rooms at the back of the hotel on the lower floors are very noisy if there is a function on in the hotel. Music can be heard very clearly in rooms up to the third floor.

The rooms are basic and clean, not bad if you get a good rate.

Most of the reception staff are quite friendly and helpful, with a few exceptions. I once left my bags in their storage room as my room wasn't ready when I arrived. When I came back later I was told the person who had the key had gone home and wouldn't be back till the next morning - not ideal.

The bar staff are quite poor, do not know their products and are not friendly.

I tried the restaurant once and it was awful. The food was of a poor standard and my white wine was warm. When I asked the waitress for a chilled bottle she said they were all like that.

All in all there are much better options in Galway.

Stayed here for three nights. Found reception welcoming and helpful. The lobby area is small but perfectly adequate. Bar quiet but pleasant. Breakfast good, but staff somewhat sparse. Very busy two mornings we were there and it was impossible to get hot tea or toast. Not good if you are in a hurry, which we were. Location great, if views not good. Compared to others the price is not bad for the standard. Rooms comfortable, if basic and perhaps in need of a little attention here and there. Certainly a good base if you don't want to have to drive. Beware the parking in Galway. Unless you know the story you can get badly stung. You can get a hotel rate in the Hynes Yard car park for €8 per day if the hotel will stamp your parking docket. Otherwise you can find yourself spending over €20 per day around the various parks. Beware also rush hour traffic - avoid this time if you can. Would certainly consider this hotel again if wanting to stay in centre Galway.
