Stayed here for three nights. Found reception welcoming and helpful. The lobby area is small but perfectly adequate. Bar quiet but pleasant. Breakfast good, but staff somewhat sparse. Very busy two mornings we were there and it was impossible to get hot tea or toast. Not good if you are in a hurry, which we were. Location great, if views not good. Compared to others the price is not bad for the standard. Rooms comfortable, if basic and perhaps in need of a little attention here and there. Certainly a good base if you don't want to have to drive. Beware the parking in Galway. Unless you know the story you can get badly stung. You can get a hotel rate in the Hynes Yard car park for €8 per day if the hotel will stamp your parking docket. Otherwise you can find yourself spending over €20 per day around the various parks. Beware also rush hour traffic - avoid this time if you can. Would certainly consider this hotel again if wanting to stay in centre Galway.

My wife and I were expecting a boutique hotel on the Harbor. What we got was a hotel on the harbor overlooking a garbage barge right outside the hotel and across the street from several large sewer tanks. The lobby is run down and the smell was very odd. It smelled like boiled cabbage the two days we stayed. The rooms were ok...very basic however they seemed clean. I think Galway overall was a bit disappointing so I think your choices for a stay are slim. I would definitely go out of my way about staying some place else as well. Oh and the other thing was that parking is not FREE as it said on the website and even in a book of hotels/bb's we had. It cost us 16 Euros for two days. No big deal but just so you know it's not free. The one thing that really made me angry was the staff. I didn't find them friendly at all. My wife and I were doing a drive around Ireland ourselves. I had some questions and the woman at the front desk was more occupied with her cell phone that wanting to help. When I asked her advice on which route to go south she said "It's up to you" and then proceded to stand there in silence. I was really just looking for an opinion. The bartender was pretty rude as well. We ended up staying for 1 drink as we did not feel welcome. Look elsewhere.

This was our 2nd time here, having stayed here 4 years ago. 4 years ago it was perfectly present, this time not so great.
We were promised a non smoking room. When we opened the door of our non smoking room the stench of cigarettes was apalling. I immediately asked for a new room which to be fair they organised immediately. New room was fine, spacious and clean and thankfully odour free. One problem however was the apparent lack of hot water. Ours was tepid at best.
The big problems were the fact that our room backed onto apartments and the car park.
We barely slept a wink as revellers arrived home at all hours singing and shouting to the apartments at the back of the hotel. Now I know this isn't the hotels fault but it's hardly a selling point.
Secondly the car park is not free. We were most surprised at this and whilst the fee wasn't much (the hotel discount the regular public rate) it left a sour taste in the mouth.
Best thing about the hotel is its location for the town centre, you're merely minutes away but it's not enough to make me want to come back.

stayed here with my boyfriend for 2 nights. Overall a very nice hotel. The room was a bit small but clean and bright. alot of noise from the traffic if your room is to the front of the hotel, so ask for one which doesn't look over the busy road below. our room had crisp white duvets and fluffy soft towels, which was a bonus as I find towels in hotels are usually very hard. Ate in the bar on one of the nights and food was well above average, a limited selection but very tasty and reasonably priced. Drinks in the bar are also alot cheaper than in bars in the city centre. The breakfast which was a buffet was also very good, excellent selection of hot food, fruits, cereals, cheeses, yoghurts, juices, breads, pasteries to mention a few. hotel also has a small jacuzzi, no swimming pool though. Would definitely make a return visit.
