The Ibis was the only hotel with any availability in Galway on Valentines weekend 2004 when we stayed there. It was absolutely basic, the sort of hotel you neither like nor dislike. It had space in the room for a couch or another bed but didnt have one and it felt so empty it seemed to sort of echo. The bathroom was excellent. The Tv fine. The breakfast was good.

Spartan furnishings, cleaned daily. Buffet breakfast is filling, but not flavorful. The desk staff is helpful when you need assistance, and they do have an internet desk and an ironing room available. Located a little too far from city center to walk, but there is a shoppiing mall one street over for anything you might not have packed.

At first I wasn't sure because the hotels have only 2 star ratings but i was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were very reasonably priced. Each room had 2 double beds, tea & coffee-making facilities, remote TV, excellent showers and very spacious. The room itself was also very spacious. Breakfast couldn't be faulted. Overall, very very good. Would definitely recommend to anyone & would certainly stay with them again.
