A clean modern hotel right in the centre of things. Convenient parking right next door was pretty good value at E10/day for in and out priveleges.
The only real problem was that the rooms in the front of the hotel were noisy as they overlook a busy area. The rooms at the back was fine. The breakfast was good and the little garden area was nice to sit in.
We found the room a bit hot which meant having the windows open to let in the noise! The shower was a bit weak and the toilet didn't always flush properly first time, maybe water saving?
We wanted to get some laundry done and the staff at the front desk recommended a service wash just up the street which was a lot cheaper than the hotel's own laundry service.

As highlighted by many other reviews this hotel is located superbly - IF - you are up for a good time in the local area.

We stayed over in the Jury's on a Wed/Thur night while attending
a local wedding. Our first few hotel choices were not available due to the arts festival and races - so we defaulted to Jury's.

So how did we find it ?

Room - our room was on the first floor - one of the larger rooms - by the lifts and vending machine. The room was large, clean - apart from the stale smell of smoke in a non-smoking room.
The room was extremely hot - when I stated this at reception, they stated "that will be the heat !" - I think they were referring to the 23C temp outside. The carpeted floor was actually hot - to this day we cannot work out why - and no - it was not installed underfloor heating !

Our room view was a side view - some river but mostly airco units. A 2nd or 3rd floor front view would be nice.

Anyway our room did not include breakfast, so we took the optional irish bkfast at 9 Euro and ate it in the small garden behind the hotel - very nice, and lets be honest - few hotels include breakfast mid-week in the high season these days.

The parking was 10 Euro a day, in a very good spot in the middle of town. For anyone who knows the traffic and parking in Galway, this is a very good deal, with a multi-entry ticket.

The staff were fine. Busily efficient. Our Room was made up by lunch time and no queues at breakfast, check in or out.

This central position is clearly noisy. Solution - the best 2 pounds/euro/dollars spent - earplugs - they even come with us to the five star hotels - as all hotels have guests, doors, piano bars and lifts ! Our room was in a pretty noisy spot - but it was not particularly noisy in my opinion - though it was not the weekend.

My feeling is that if your in Galway for a few late nights and an easy walk home - this hotel is great. If your on a touring holiday and are up at dawn and tucked up in bed by 10.00 - head out to the B&B's or Salthill. There is alot of choice for those who dont want this urban weekend 'experience'.

For those who became lost finding the hotel - I find this a little strange - it is smack bang in the busy spanish arches area and you approach the hotel car park right by the front entrance. Just ask for the arches if you need directions.

I didn't feel security was an issue - but we look the simple precuations anyway - better safer than sorry.

All in all, this is a simple budget hotel in a good spot for a bit of fun- maybe to be avoided at weekends if your looking for a quiet nights sleep.

Just returned from a two week trip to Ireland with my 2 young adult children. After reading terrible reviews about Jurys Inn Galway, I was more than hesitant to book a room. However, after not being able to find a BnB close to the city centre, we decided to give it a try. Our check-in was quick and friendly, we had a parking spot in the garage for 10E a day allowing us to come and go as often as we wished, and the room was clean and large enough to accommodate the 3 of us. There was street noise because we had the windows open and the World Cup revellers were out but that was not the fault of the hotel. We were there on a Tues and Wed, so we didn't experience weekend parties.
The location was perfect and for 112 Euro booked online, I'd definitely stay there again.

The place was great, largely due to the location. It was right near Quay St, where I wanted to be. The hotel was very clean, and the staff was very friendly. I had dinner in the hotel restaurant on Valentine's Day and it was delicious! I also went to the hotel bar, Inntro Bar, several times. Good prices and good food. I decided to stay in Galway an extra night, and even though Jury's was booked the next night they recommended another hotel down the street. Would definitely stay here again!

Where do I start,

I use a lot of the jurys hotels in ireland and the UK, They are normally of a very good standard but the Galway Jurys inn really lets them down badly.

The rooms are generally not great, very small

Firstly a man (Staff member) walked into our room as we were getting ready to head out one night. Said he was checking to see was it empty, very suspishious,

Then we had no hot water for the first night, so no shower, next morning no hot water despite the fact that we brought itto their attention the night before. then when we were about to head out that night I ran a bath only to see brown water coming from the taps and dirt in the water!!!!!!

Called down to reception, they said leave it running and it will get better, 30 mins later it was still the same. Called again and eventually got speaking to a shift manager who said he was upgrading us. We ended up with a smaller room?

When I complained that he had wasted hours of my time and that we had missed our dinner reservations he offered me a free breckfast the next morning,

When I went down the next morning there was no record of a free breckfast for me,

I can go on but if your still reading now you get the picture.

Other downsides of this hotel are the noise the delivery men make to the bar in the mornings, you can hear them if you have aroom with window overlooking the street. also you have to pay €10 a day for parking,

Stay in one of the many hotels in Eyre Square, far better and equally as good a location.
