I stayed at Jury's Inn with my family for a week. I was visiting my daughter, who was living in Galway. I would not go back. The rooms are definitely motel fare and the "pull out couch" is more of a cushion with holes in it. The 2nd floor smelled like stale smoke the entire time. We were definitely disappointed.
On the positive side, it is convenient to Shop Street and all the pubs and restaurants. The restaurant bar was very nice, bartenders very attentive.
If I go back, I'm definitely going the B&B route. I would not recommend this hotel for a long stay, maybe a night or two.

Forget the fact that this is a product of the apalling planning laws in Galway for the last 30 years (plenty more of those everywhere in the County...) and ranks as one of the ugliest buildings in Ireland.
I've been travelling to Galway for decades now. The town is amazing, especially in the winter and I always stay in Jurys. Simply ask for a room facing the river. It's beautiful. What more could you ask for? The rooms are clean and the beds are big. Don't have breakfast there. Just get up late and wander up Shop Street.
The best pub in Ireland is a few doors up to the left (Neachtain's) and the live music there is amazing; the best fish restaurant (more like a diner) is next door to the hotel.

And PLEASE could our friends from the USA pack earplugs when coming to Ireland and stop eating in hotels!

We stayed in this hotel for New years eve and had a great stay! On arrival the water in the hotel was not working but this was fixed in less than an hour and did not affect our stay at all - without request we were given back €45 on leaving the hotel for the inconvenience!

We had a lovely room on the 3rd floor facing the river, good size room and bathroom and didnt experience any noise although I did hear people on lower floors complaining of this.

The worst part was the service in the bar - very slow, although in fairness it was New Year's!

Altogether a good stay and would recommend this hotel to others.

Enjoyed our stay here. Noise level is high, the doors are heavy and are loud. We were fortunate to have a 2nd fl room facing the river, the roar of the water was nice. Staff was very nice, the bar and restaurant well tended and reasonable. It is wise to be careful, it is too easy to enter the hotel without being noticed.
