“Best seafood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2014

The food is definitely the best seafood I've ever had everything was fresh and very tasty. It was well presented. I would definitely recommend the tasting platter as a starter.
The service was friendly and efficient.

“The best seafood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2014

We heard about this place from our taxi driver, and then looked on trip advisor. We managed to get in without booking-think we were lucky as it was a Monday night and half way through our meal the restaurant was full. Our waitress was very good and really friendly, she recommended which drinks to go with our food. We had starters, main and pudding-all of which were superb. Everything on the menu sounded delicious. The seafood chowder was better than the one I had in San Francisco, in fact it was the best seafood I've had. Very happy we dined there. No low points at all :))

“Did not live up to rave reviews”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2014 via mobile

Oscars did not live up to the expectations set by so many 5 star TripAdvisor reviews. Restaurant had more of a cafe feel, with small tables close together. Fish was fresh but flavours and the entire experience was not memorably. Service was friendly but a bit chaotic - confusion with starters & main courses & we got the bill for another table. Pricey and not particularly special.

“Excellent-should be #1”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2014 via mobile

Of the 4 retaurants we dined at this was by far the best.
We were lucky getting a table on a Friday night and despite being very busy the service was very good. The waiter clearly knew about the food on offer and its source.
Of course the food was great- the potted crab devine and the thickest cod steaks I have ever seen !
The desert we chose was a rhubarb compote which came with some lovely home made buttery biscuits.
We chose Chilean cabernet sauvignon red to accompany the meal as well as a bottle of real ale- all very tasty
Well done - this is my 100th review and am pleased it was possibly the best restaurant ive had the pleasure of eating at.
Thank You
I suspect my wife will be back here with her friend next week!

“special of the day menu visit for dinner 16th April 2014”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2014

We had pre booked a table for a 6.30 sitting, luckily, as the restaurant soon filed up. We got a booth table by the front window allowing us to view the restaurant. The staff were very polite, efficient and greeted each guest as they entered the restaurant. Having viewed the menu and specials blackboard, we ordered the sharing platter to start, I had the turbot and ling with crab bisque and my wife had the battered haddock with chips. We shared a bottle of the Riesling. The food was excellent. The starter selection board provided the chance to sample a selection seafood prepared and presented in a variety of ways. The turbot and ling were delicious as was the crab bisque accompanying it and the gram flour batter on the haddock was an interesting change.

Our visit was on a friends recommendation and we are so glad we went. Be sure to book!
