My three friends and I visited Galway and had the pleasure of staying at St. Martin's. Mary and Tubbs (Mary's dogged, named as such because "he is just SO fat!") greated us warmly and showed us to our family-style room. The room was very welcoming, though a bit small for four adults. Nonetheless, the comfortable beds, cute decorations, and delicious breakfast made our stay at St. Martin's quite perfect. As a bonus, this B&B is a stone's throw from the Quay's and the heart of Galway. Free parking is located just down the street, but no car is needed to explore Galway. Mary's garden, overlooking the River Corrib, is lovely, too (a nice bonus and perfect place to enjoy a relaxing breakfast before a busy day).

Many thanks, Mary!

St. Martin's was gorgeous from the moment I saw it. It's a beautiful older building covered with flowers and plants, right on the river, with a fantastic waterfall right outside the window. The location is perfect - a block away from the heart of town. And our host Mary was so sweet! Spend some time talking with her and playing with Tubbs, her chubby little dog. Don't miss this great place to stay!

This B&B is conveniently located right across the river from the center of town--you can't beat that. The garden facing the river is lovely, and the hostess is friendly and welcoming. Our room was located on the first floor, and was fairly dark--it was clean and fairly comfortable, but we prefer a bit brighter and upscale rooms, personally. However, the price was great, and for just a two-night stay, it fit the bill.

St. Martins is locates just over the O'Brien bridge from High Street, which is where most of the bars and restaurants are. It's only about a 10-15 minute walk from Eire square where theres a lot of shopping and buses for day trips to the Aran Islands and Connmeara leave from. The place itself was very comfortable with one of the only showers in ireland that was actually high enough for me to stand under it. The breakfast room looks out on a back yard which is right on the river and has a beautiful view. Mary was very welcoming and cooked up a mean breakfast. I would recommend this B&B to anyone in galway who is looking for something nicer than a hostel

We arrived at St. Martin's after a long overseas flight and a cross country drive from Dublin. Mary greeted us with scones, tea and a huge smile. She let us get settled and then gave us a tour of her garden which overlooks the river. Tubbs (Chubbs) the dog is just as welcoming as Mary.

The room was clean, the shower was nice. Location can't be beat. Parking before 5pm is a bit of a challenge. You can get street parking and pay a few Euros to get a sticker to put in your window to park overnight on the street. There is also a parking garage not far from the B&B.She had plenty of suggestions for food, drink and music. All of which were 2 minutes away - just over the stone bridge.

As we were heading out the next day to Connemara she suggested we stop by the Cheesemongers for some wine and cheese to picnic with. Great food!

Would highly recommend this B&B for the location and the warm Irish welcome!
