This B&B was favourably reviewed in Lonely Planet, so we made our way there without having prior reservation. Mary had a room available, but it was not ready for guests at the time we arrived. She sat us down for tea with bread and jam while she prepared the room. In most hotel and B&Bs you leave your luggage and wonder outside for an hour or two.
The room (en suite) was small, cosy and VERY clean. It radiated the feeling of hominess (is there such a word?).
When we crawled into bed after exploring the town all day, we found that Mary has put a hot water bottle to warm the bed up. It was a welcome surprise, considering that it was cold and rainy outside.
We looked forward to breakfast in the mornings, especially fresh-squeezed orange juice and bread.
Tubbs was pretty cute, too. He is a very affectionate and friendly dog, although Donie says that "he is all courage".
Hot water bottle, orange juice and Tubbs were the highlights. And hospitality, of course.
We loved this B&B, would recommend it and stay there again.
