“Good place for breakfast and more”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2014

My husband, college-aged daughter and I needed a place to get some breakfast in Galway and stumbled across the Gourmet Tart Company. The coffee was delicious and there were so many great looking tarts that we couldn't choose, so we took advantage of their 6 for 11 euros special. They also had a lot of lunch and take-away items.

“Hit or miss”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2014

Never went for a meal in the evening so can't comment on that but I've had cakes/patries and brunch.

Pastries are ok though quite greasy... and not in good way!! Cakes and tarts are really hit or miss. Some are lovely and truly delicious; some are dried, not nice or even stale. It should be noted that their plain brioche loaf are nice and make very nice french toast or indulgent "bread and butter pudding" ;-)

Brunch: not memorable by any mean!!

In conclusion, would not be the place I'll rush in every week; just not reliable and predictable...

“A wonderful find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2014

We visited the Gourmet Tart Co in Salthill 3 times whilst we stayed there. Twice for breakfast and once for an evening meal. The food was fantastic. Beautifully cooked and served. The menus for both breakfast and dinner were that bit different to your average. I am not a fan of the 'big fry' breakfast but thoroughly enjoyed their poached eggs on English muffins with a slice of bacon and tomato relish. Their dinner menu (only available at the weekends I think) was equally interesting reflecting the nationalities of the cooks! It was an eclectic mix which worked for us. Every meal we had was fabulous, and we are not easily impressed.

We liked the ambiance of the restaurant as well as the décor. We loved the noisy hustle and bustle of it.

If you are self catering try their breads, cakes plus so much more. We only wish we had a branch near to us in the UK. It stood out to us as just different with high quality food and great service at a reasonable price.

Cant wait to revisit!

“Too noisy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2014

Great food, from the hot brunch menu. This place is always too noisy at lunch time due to the rooms acoustics. HOwever, it is a good option for a reasonably priced lunch- I recommend the dahl. ENjoy!

Well done
