“Good meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

Very good service and great atmosphere. The lamb was delightful but the stir fry was the 'best'! We arrived at 7pm on a Saturday but managed to get a table near the pub. Didn't wait long for our food to arrive and have no complaints.

“What a Great Pub with Great Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

We always stop off here when heading West... Its such a great pub, always spotlessly clean and comfortable, love the fireplace!! There is a great selection of food available from a light snack to some tasty main courses. The food here is well priced and really great value. Some of our favourites are (cold) Smoked Salmon, Chicken Chilli wrap (Hot) - chicken curry, bacon and cabbage, fish and Chips.. Yes some very traditional but very tasty, the homemade desserts are really yummy!!, such as sticky toffee pudding, bread and butter pudding, rhubarb crumble etc.. The service is great here - very friendly and down to earth . They have one of the best selections of vodkas and cognacs that we have come across on our travels. We love this spot, looking forward to heading west again soon..This pub well wort a visit

“Great home cooked food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

I have eaten here on a number of occasions, its a pity but the new motor way seems to have affected the amount of people going in. I eat there twice during the weekend. The food and staff are excellent, lovely home cooked food, great choice and flavour. If you are looking for a nice comfortable place to eat en route to Galway or going the other direction, take a few moments and come off the motorway for Raftery's in Craughwell.

“warm and welcoming, great wholesome food, cosy open fire!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2009

i have visited this bar on numerous occasions on my travels and it never fails to please. its rare these days to come across a traditional family run establishment that has held on to the great consistent qualities this bar possesses such as the warm friendly banter from the staff, large open fire and great wholesome food, such as "bacon & cabbage" and not to mention value for money, try the sunday lunch menu for a great treat that wont disapoint. i will certently be back again. but please save me a slice of the delicious homemade sticky toffee pudding next time LOL
