“Absolutely the best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2013

One of the best places to stay in Galway. Mary and Charlie are the best. Rooms are very clean and warm. Breakfast is one of the best I have had in Ireland! The pudding was delicious! It felt like I was staying with family. I will be staying here any time I am in Galway!

After several stays in Galway I finally found the no.1 B&B for me. Mary gives you the feeling that whatever might happen - she's aware already and knows how to handle the situation. During our breakfast at nine a.m. we asked her if we had a chance to reach a plane to the Aran isles. Including a 45 mins drive we sat in the little plane at 10 a.m. with our tickets in hand, which she had aranged already. All I can do is to recommend Prague House to anyone coming to Galway City, which is within two mins' walking distance. Thank you Mary.

The B&B is in a quiet area, with an easy 10 minute walk into the main shopping and restaurant pedestrian area. Mary gave us excellent advice on the area, and her breakfast choices were lovely. (French toast, yum.)
On our final morning, there was a huge storm outside. Mary offered her sturdy umbrella so that we could go to the ATM. We got soaked and her umbrella paid the ultimate price. She also talked us into staying for another pot of tea while we waited for a break in the storm. We did and got to know a nice couple from Vancouver who were traveling after their recent retirement. What a pleasant way to spend a stormy morning.

Fanatstic place to stay if you are In Galway City. Short walk in to town or to the rrsturants and bars of Salthills seafront. Mary is a great host, warm friendly and knowledgable. Breakfast is a triumph. Not to be missed.

Room Tip: Rooms at back of property away from road may be best in summer.

A very nice B&B, very clean and has an excellent location. Breakfast is very luxurious and the shower has the strongest current in all of Ireland, but the main reason we recommend the place is the owners. A lovely couple, who cares deeply about the welfare of their guests. This couple gives new meaning to the famous Irish hospitality! Knew how to direct us to great restaurants and cool pubs, keeping in mind our financial abilities (or lack of them :-) ...). we strongly advise you to stay at the Prague House B&B!

We stayed at Prague House September 2013, Charlie met us when we arrived and was very friendly. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We met Mary at breakfast and she was very charming , telling us a little bit about the history of the house and the beautiful craftmanship. Our breakfast was delicious. Prague House is in easy walking distance of Galways Quay St. shops, with many pubs, restaurants and stores.

Outstanding location within 5 minute walk of both Galway Center and Salthill Promenade. Charlie and Mary were gracious hosts giving us a warm welcome, great information on local pubs (the Crane Bar), and many fun conversations. The house is on busy Father Griffin Road. If you are bothered by street noise ask for a back room. We were in the front both nights but it never bothered us. The room was clean and efficient. Breakfast was delightful and delicious with perfect french press coffee. They were both sweethearts and we would absolutely stay here again.
