We pride ourselves on our fresh ingredients including Indian spices that are mixed, roasted & ground daily at Rasam Restaurant. “Very reliable, excellent food & setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

I again visited Rasam in November having not been there for a few years, little had changed in that it is still a beautiful setting, tasteful interior, great food and sympathetic management. We arrived at short notice after a November rugby international and were lucky to have gotten a table at short notice. Rasam to me is unique in Dublin as an Indian restaurant which serves pork, duck, seabass and not just the prawn, lamb, chicken of normal irish indian restaurants.

They had at the time just changed the menu, i am not sure if it is still the same menu, but personally i found the new menu not to have as many choices as the old one and was in my opinion not as good, don't get me wrong, it was still good, but not as good as before.

We really enjoyed our food, there was just one little problem, one of the staff was quite grumpy with us, I am not sure why this was, but it was a pity, especially as the welcome by the owner/manager and some of the staff was so warm.

I'm looking forward to my next trip to Glasthule, I'll perhaps try the early bird next time.

There is also a very good pub underneath called the Eagle House, perfect for an aperitif or even digestif...

“Never fails to deliver”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

As customers we first encountered Nisheeth Tak, the man behind Rasam, when he was running Poppadom in Rathgar. He is, to this day, probably the most genuine and polished front of house person working in the Irish restaurant scene. Even more impressive is his commitment to superb food, ingredients and staff, including chefs that he personally seeks out on his trips to India. Rasam doesn't cut any corners and it doesn't make too many nods to the more cliched Indian fare. This is high quality stuff and the fact that the big Bollywood stars eat here when they come to Dublin should be enough of a testament to its authenticity. The food is nothing short of excellent and is served by very attentive and friendly staff. Location is above a bizarrely incongruous pub in the very posh Glasthule village which is unfortunate but this is an Indian food experience worth traveling to from a long long way away as we have often done.

“Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

I made a trip out to Dun Laoghaire to visit this restaurant based on the reviews on trip advisor. I definitely wasn't disappointed. The restaurant is really beautiful with food awards decorating every wall space. The staff were amazing. Seriously polite and friendly but very, very helpful. I'm an Indian food novice and so we asked for some recommendations. It's also a pity that none of the party like lamb, which is a restaurant speciality, but our waiter was very helpful in selecting other dishes instead.
The food was so enjoyable, extremely tasty and beautifully presented. Also, we were very much left to our own devices to enjoy our food and did not feel at all rushed. It was a very comfortable dining experience. I'm very much looking forward to going back sometime soon.

“Simply the best Indian cuisine in Dublin”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

All seven in the group rated the food, wine, service, atmosphere as THE BEST Indian restaurant in Dublin if not in Ireland. The starters were light but oozing that authentic mix of flavours and the mains were par excellence.
Nisheeth Tak owner and maître d’ was as always his usual hospitable self with an enormous welcome for everyone.
We will be back.
