Description: Located at 64A South William Street this beautiful and solely candle lit wine cavern has been stripped back to its original features. As a traditional Spanish tapas bar it boasts a fantastic selection of authentic tapas. The Port House wine menu is varied and full of interesting wines, ports and sherries at a very reasonable price, carefully selected from Spanish and Portuguese regions. It is the ideal place for one to relax, enjoy some tapas with a glass of wine and soak up the ambiance that makes this spot a must try.

“A Spanish delight”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

Offering a combination of tapas and pintxo this lovely basement restaurant creates a romantic atmosphere for the dining moment. Be adventurous and order as many different items as possible.....including their lovely cava mojito. We actually had so much fun choosing different items that its hard to recall each one individually now. Go with friends, "mix and match" and have fun.

“Coasting on good reviews only explanation.”

Really disappointed with this restaurant. Food served cold and overcooked. Place packed though and atmosphere good but all no use if the food is not up to scratch. Pity.

“Excellent tapas!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

Ate here last night . Food was great. Manager was excellent and made us feel very welcome. We were given two complimentary glasses of champagne for our wedding anniversary. Lovely atmosphere. Service great..we weren't rushed out even though there was a long queue outside. A great night.... Can't wait to go there again.

“Tapas and churros!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

Atmosphere is great in the dark basement sitting area. A bit packed but everyone seems to enjoy themselves. Tapas is not comparable to my experience in Spain/the Canaries but adequate. Try the croquettes, yum! The sherry and jamon platter is nice too.

“Average For Wine”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

Went here last night for a glass of wine, as I know they have a decent wine list. I ordered a Txakolina, which was poured in the correct manner and served at a perfect temperature, so the barman knew his wines. However, the red Priorat my girlfriend ordered was far too warm. We were told it is just too hard to keep wines cool in the unseasonably hot weather. It's not if they had a red wine fridge or suitable storage area. Room temperature is NOT the correct serving temperature when that room is beside a busy kitchen. When a place is charging over €7 for a glass of wine, the very least one should expect is that it is served at the correct temperature.

To be fair, the wine was removed without fuss and served in a cool glass, but that's still not ideal, as the wine is being stored in completely below-par conditions.

We went on to have some fortified wines which are reasonably priced and were served correctly.

The staff were very friendly and polite, so would have no issue with service or attentiveness.
