“Wonderful food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

This is a little gem on St Stephen's Green. French food and French hospitality at it's professional best. Located under the Clifff Hotel and near the Shelbourne Hotel. Definately a place to have pre theatre dinner. Take as long as you need or a little quicker to get that curtain call. Prices are very reasonable for top quality food. Highly recommended city centre eating. Reservations recommended. Limited outdoor seating.

“A taste of Paris in Dublin”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

My husband and I were on a day trip to Dublin and wondered around St Stephen's Green to look for somewhere different for lunch. We found this little restaurant with a lovely menu and great lunch fixed price so we decided to give it a try.

The French staff were so attentive and friendly. The restaurant was packed for lunch which was a great sign. From the start they were not forcing expensive items at us, even asking if we would like tap or bottled water and then bringing the tap water in a lovely bottle. The wine was lovely and the waitress took it away to keep it chilled but was so attentive as soon as we had finished our glass she was over to refill.

The food was beautifully presented and quite delicious. The desserts were gorgeous. The food could not have been topped had we been dining in Paris.

We spent a couple of hours there and dined at a lovely, leisurely pace. We can fault nothing about this restaurant it is one of the best meals we have ever had.

It was so easy to forget where we were, that by the time we were leaving we were adding a bit of French into the conversation with the waitress!

When we are next in Dublin we will be sure to dine there.

“Excellent”

Excellent food and service and great value for money much better than some of the hotels and other restaurants in that area.
Looking forward to returning.

“Great place for a late lazy lunch!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

I recently had a lovely late lazy lunch at La Mere Zou and am already looking forward to when I can return.
The staff were very friendly and helpful in advising what was good on the menu and also on the wine list. I was particularly impressed in that they didn't immediately suggest the most expensive of everything as being the best.
The atmosphere is good too, its set downstairs in a nice bright basement location.
I'm looking forward to returning for dinner.

“The French atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

On a recent trip to Dublin we ended up in La Mere Zou as we used to be regulars there at the time we were living in Ireland and I must say we were impressed by the quality of food and service. It was as we had never left!
The French atmosphere, attentive service and discreet yet efficient waitresses. We had a smoked salmon platter and it was the best I ever had in Ireland, a very simple tomato and goats cheese salad followed by Turbot with asparagus perfectly cooked and a very modern assiette of irish rabbit which was full of flavors. The creme brulee also was as it should be!
Altogether we spent a very good evening and hope we'll be back soon.
