“Great place for a light bite”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

We had eaten a huge afternoon tea and so wanted something light for dinner. The staff here were extremely accommodating when we explained we didn't want a huge dinner. We had soup to start which was delicious. We just ordered some sides to top up and were treated to a complimentary bowl of chips (huge) and some scrummy crispy onion slices. We had ordered onion rings which were the best we had ever tasted.

“Late lunch in Dalkey town.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

We had Homebaked Chicken and Leek pie with buttered baby potatoes. They were gorgeous. the Carbonara also went down a treat. We had apple tart and tea to finish off a delightful lunch. when we had explored the harbour we returned for cold cider at an outside table to finish off our tour of the town.

“Steak on the stone lunch special and chicken pie outstanding!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

Fantastic lunch in the Queens sitting out the front with a great view on the world passing by! Food was so well presented and tasted delicious. You really can't beat the steak on the stone here, I find it always hits the spot! The chicken and leek pie was a great surprise too. The pastry was done to perfection and the side of sautéed spinach really set it off. Great varied menu and all very affordable. Would definitely recommend this place and Dalkey has a great weekend buzz about it.

“Great Location - Excellent Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

Dalkey village is only a forty minute ride South on the train (DART) from Dublin city centre and the train ride passes some really picturesque coastline. Before going to the Queens for lunch we walked up Killiney Hill and this energetic walk brings you to a hilltop where you have a panoramic view of Dublin on one side and the Wicklow mountains on the other side.

We got to the Queens around 2.30pm and the weather was glorious so we grabbed one of the many tables outside. Service was warm and friendly and although well known for its quality steaks we both chose sea bass served on an interesting bed of mashed potatoes. Both the quality and quantity provided lasting satisfaction.

If you take time to visit the Queens you should also tour Dalkey Castle next door for an interesting insight into the village's history.
