We had just visited a 2* Michelin Restaurant the night before and this was just what we need - excellent food in a more relaxed atmosphere and regular service by Kevin Thornton the Chef.
We opted for a glass of Bollinger while we decided what to eat and opted for the taster menu with wine parings which offered good value for money given the qulity of the food.
This was modern food served in an innovative way and many of the dishes challenged you palate with their impact but everything was beautifully balanced and the mouthfulls of flavour never lingered or interfered with your enjoyment, in fact every dish was an expereinec and Kevin told you what the dish was and added some lovely humour - I will not spoil it but it was laugh oyut loud funny! While the wine was not exceptional it worked very well with the dishes and was well chosen to add to the meal. The fois gras was brilliant as was the partridge.
No complaints from us a great night, fantastic food, great ambiance and lots happening throughout the restaurant - we will be back again!
It is great that you can visit Dublin and have two such great dining expereinces each totally different - only negative point was the dessert was a little disappointing.
Summary if in Dublin don't miss going here - it offers god value for money, not cheap but you remember the quality long after you have forgotten the price!
