Visited Thorntons after a recommendation from our hotel (Four Seasons) while in Dublin, and well the title of this review says it all.
The restaurant isn't very big, but you absolutely gain an intimate feel which you immediately appreciate. We were going to opt for the 5 courses taster menu, but our waiter suggested trying the 8 course taster menu instead. i must say that was probably one of the best choices we have ever made. We made the staff aware of our pescetarian diet, and they happily adjusted the 8 courses to accommodate it.
I can't recall all the courses we ate, but we were extremely satisfied after each one. You could taste every flavour, which is very rare when going for a meal, and for the senses, it was a great journey. The head chef Kevin Thornton visited our table 3 times, which made our visit feel even more special and personal, which we greatly appreciated.
We left the restaurant not stuffed, but sufficiently full, and very happy.
My girlfriend and I have been lucky enough to have eaten at many a great restaurant globally, but after our visit to Thornton's, it was undoubtedly the best meal we've ever had.
I could not recommend this restaurant highly enough.

Dear Mateen N, thank you very much for your review on your experience at Thornton's. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed our 8 course surprise menu, indeed it is very popular here. I have shared your kind words with all members of the team. We look forward to welcoming you both back the next time you are in Dublin.
