“Best Meal in Dublin”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

Had the chicken and bacon boxty with a side of green beans and the Bailey's Ice Cream with Caramel Boxty croutons. By far my favorite meal in Dublin. I will be searching for a place back home with boxty!

“Best meal we had in Dublin”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

So glad we stumbled across this place on our first night, we had a really good meal here and it turned out to be the best meal of our trip. We understood it to be traditional food with a couple of modern twists. Great choice on the menu and really enjoyed the set menu with 3 courses for €25 per person, good value as they were really huge portions. Staff were really friendly and service was good. The Irish stew was fantastic, so was the home made, gluten free apple crumble.

With good service, good food and a nice atmosphere it is definitely somewhere I would recommend and would eat here again if back in Dublin.

“Not too bad but lacking a bit of atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

The food was not too bad, the irish potato pancake is kind of like a rubbery crepe so needs the flavoursome filling. While all was fine with the service and food, it just lacks a bit of atmosphere as its a restaurant proper rather than a bar with eating and entertainment.

Hi Cattravelling,
thank for the review, although we were dismayed to hear of our famous boxty pancake being described as being like a 'rubbery crepe'!!!!!!!

Sorry you found your boxty to be in such a condition, we hope you pay us another visit and let us change your impressions of us.

Thanks again from all the team.

“Very tasty!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

We went here, because of a recommendation on here! its didn't disappoint. We had the foresight to book a table when we walked past Saturday afternoon-which was a good job, because they were packed!
we started with the bacon ribs and the boxty platter. both exceptional! the bacon ribs are a must for any pork/bacon/ribs fan! and the boxty platter introduces any new boxty eater to the variations on offer!
we then continued our boxty journey with the chicken and leek boxty and the beef boxty. the beef boxty has to be one of the tastiest, juiciest, tenderest pieces of meat I have had in a long time. so so so good!!!
We were served by martin, who was the right amount of attentive and friendly, that he added to our experience.
Thanks! we'll be back, when we return to Dublin! Yum!!

“A brilliantly hosted night”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013 via mobile

Went to Boxty for a birthday meal for my best mates 30th, from the word go we were treated brilliantly by the lovely waiter Fin (Fionnbhar). The restuarant is pretty intumate which made for done really great concersations with other visitirs to the restuarant. Fin made such an effort to make us welcome, advise is in the best dishes and have a great evening. My friend even got a complimentary birthday desert. Both fin and thd manager were really approachable and seemed like they gad a lot of time for all the customers! The food and drink were amazing, good quality produce at a reasonable price for Dublin Central. Brilliant evening, thanks to the staff for their time and effort to make our night amazing!
