“Mother and 3 daughters amazing lunch treat!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2014 via mobile

My sister booked us into this most beautiful restaurant as I had flown over to join my family from Switzerland for a pre-Mothers day celebration.
We arrived a little late, and I apologised and was told not to worry and go relax. Have just realised it was actually Mr Guilbaud himself who reassured me!
We had the 3 course lunch menu which was unbelievable! Knowing the ingredients were the best of Irish, done in a French style, the food was just exquisite, so tasty. The white wine, from Loire (wish I could remember the name...similar to a sancerre? Started with cassis?) It was nectar. Hmm the desserts. The huge cheeseboard. It goes on...
The staff and waiters were so attentive and treated us like royalty. The owner and manager coming to the table and shaking our hands.
The whole ambience in the restaurant was friendly, there were two large tables there and everyone seemed to be enjoying the experience!
We have never known any dining like this and compared to what you pay elsewhere in Dublin, this was first class dining and not expensive. For the same price in Switzerland I'd get a salad bowl and a Rosti.
Go there and enjoy. We did. They made our reunion so special and we will be back. Thank you all so much there.

“Expensive Past Masters of Fine Dining”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2014

I greatly enjoyed a Friday lunch with a friend in March 2014 at Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud. The restaurant was full.

I have dined here many times over the past 15 years, and each time excellent service is delivered with excellent food. This visit was no exception. Stephane Robin (front of house) was very much in evidence and is a consummate professional who runs an exceptionally tight ship. Patrick Guilbaud was also doing a meet and greet at each table.

The standard of food was as one would expect at a two star Michelin establishment. We enjoyed the set lunch menu at €50, and given that it changes regularly there is little point in going into details. However the amuse bouche of potato souffle with chocolate shavings and candied lemon really stands out in the memory (hopefully I got all the details correct!).

As can often be the case especially in two and three star Michelin restaurants, the dining experience is quite a formal one, so don't go expecting any great warmth....

However, it really is hard to beat in terms of its overall standard of sophistication as a dining experience.

“Fantastic Food, Fantastic Service, Fantastic Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

While staying at the Merrion Hotel for a weekend break we booked a table at the fantastic Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud. This is Ireland's only 2 Michelin star restaurant and we were really looking forward to the experience. We were not disappointed.

The restaurant is beautiful inside with a nice relaxed atmosphere. The dress is smart casual but not fussy, some people were in jeans but most people dressed for the occasion. The service was excellent and the staff were very attentive. The food (the reason we wanted to go to this restaurant) was flawless, beautifully cooked with exceptional ingredients. It was a fantastic experience.

Mr. Guilbaud was present on the night and introduced himself at every table which was a nice touch. This is an expensive restaurant but worth it for the experience and quality of the food and service. If you are after a real culinary treat, look no further.

“Wonderfull experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2014

Visited this restaurant for a Birthday Lunch recently. Overall it was an exceptional experience from start to end. We were made to feel very welcome and were not once rushed. The service is exceptional. The whole experience is like watching a show and everything is done to near military precision.

The food was very tasty and when we left at about 5pm having been there since before our 2pm reservation we were stuffed. The wine list is huge and has to be put on a stand beside you as its quite heavy. For people trying to price a visit to include wine etc; the cheapest bottle starts at €50 upwards and I think a glass starts at €15. A bottle of still water is €6.

We went out to the outdoor terrace to have our Petit Fours and finish our wine and relax. Not once through our visit was the staffs attention taken off us. They are very attentive but yet not intrusive. I will certainly be sure to visit again soon it is somewhat addictive the whole experience.

I have uploaded a number of photos to try and give you a look behind these famous doors. It is most defiantly worthy of its 2* Michelin Stars.
