“Lovely hotel, great break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2007

Just returned from a 3 night break at the Louis Fitzgerald, and had a great stay. The service, staff and accommodation were all fantastic. Only down side was the 10 minute walk to the tram, we did not see any evidence of or were offered the use of a courtesy shuttle bus.

Ate in the restaurant, would not recommend the pork as it was nothing special. Joels restaurant was excellent and we visited there twice.

Staff on reception and in the bar could not have been more helpful and the public areas in the hotel were exceptional, especially the toilets in the reception area.

Breakfast is amazing and would recommend that if you have not booked this with your room you pay the 10euro special as there is so much choice and the quality is exceptional. Breakfast is served until 11.00am Saturday and Sunday which is great.

This is a brand new property. We were the first to stay in our room! Modern design and staff were friendly and really were trying hard considering they were also new. We had a room with two beds and the bathroom is large. Hotel is in a strange location behind a gas station that due to road construction can be difficult to get to, but worth the trouble. We got a third night free which ended up working out to $85 dollars a night which was incredible for dublin. The location is close to the motorway but the rooms are soundproof.

We had rented a car to go sightseeing and the hotel has free parking in an underground garage. You can walk (10 minutes) to the new tram system called LUAS which was spotless. There is a also a shuttle from the hotel to the LUAS. For 1.9 Euro you can ride to downtown Dublin in 40 minutes. So convenient don't even think of driving downtown especially on the weekend.

My only complaint is the brand new beds were really firm, I actually thought they made a mistake and used boxed springs but checked and it was the mattress.

A great find for a reasonable price

  • Liked — Quiet hotel, great price in an expensive city
  • Disliked — new bed was way too hard

We stayed in this hotel over the weekend, the rates were excellent, the hotel is beautiful.. lovely rooms, very modern. We didn't eat in the restaurant but the menu looked nice (quiet expensive). The bar was lovely but the guy behind the bar didn't have a clue what he was at.. he was very inexperienced. Apart from that we enjoyed our experience there. The restaurant beside it (Joels) is really nice... well worth a look. I'd definatley go back. Very easy to get to and the staff were so helpful and went out of their way to make our stay very enjoyable.... I'd recommend it to anyone.

While planning our tour of Ireland, we came across a great deal in a Dublin hotel and decided to take a risk and stay for 1 night as it was close to the city and to the airport. Although the hotel is recently opened, I cannot commend enough the professionalism of the staff and the welcome we received.

On entering the hotel our bags were taken off us and whisked up to our room, check in was quick and very professional and we were given plenty of information on what to do in the local area and how to get speedily into the city centre by tram.

Our rooms were bright and airy and you could tell they were new as they were pristine. The rooms has large flat screen TV’s, huge safes, proper big towels, big hairdryers and even large bottles of toiletries, plus conditioner (which was a first during our travels). Our room overlooked the Dublin mountains and was a lovely view in the morning.

We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent, well presented, hot and served with efficiency…the restaurant was pretty full, we were told that a nearby restaurant was owned by the hotel and if we fancied a change we could eat there..alas, we had only 1 night.

Breakfast was great, lots of cheeses, decent coffee and a good selection of breads and juices. We are planning our trip for next year and hopefully our first port of call will be the Louis Fitzgerald as we really enjoyed our stay and felt really cared for.
