“Great value in Dublin”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013 via mobile

Spent three nights. Service was perfect. Very helpful staff. It's a little far from the center but walkable. Hop On/Off bus stops around the corner. Tried the restaurant one night. Meal was excellent and the servers were pleasant and helpful.

Not the best Hotel in Dublin in this Price range. Awful Location, and production line Service. Not much on offer for vegetarians, and pretty poor wine selection in the Restaurant. The food I eventually ate was too salty. The entire atmosphere is sterile and anonymous, not the Thing at all if you want to experience and enjoy Irish charm.

Dear Stephaniehk,

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay on tripadvisor.

I was very disappointed to receive such negative feedback regarding your stay.

Although on first glance the menu on offer does not appear to have many vegatarian options many of the dishes can be adapted to a vegatarian dish. If this was not communicated fully by the staff I can only apologise and I will ensure further training is carried out immediately.

As can be seen by many reviews many guests have found that being located so closely to O’ Connell Street makes the hotel a very convenient base for their stay in Dublin.

Once again I thank you for your review and I do hope you reconsider staying with us again in future.

Kind Regards,

Philip Uzice

This hotel was much more modern and comfortable that the first hotel we stayed at in Dublin but its location was not centrally located for us at all. It is kind of close to O' Connell Street but you have to walk through a slightly sketchy neighborhood to get there and we spent most of our time south of the Liffey, closer to Grafton and St. Stephen's Green, so the location was a major drawback for us. Comfortable bed, at least, and it had AC.

Dear Jenn C,

Thank you for your feedback following your stay.

I was glad you found the hotel to be so comfortable throughout your stay.

Although the hotel is 20 minutes walk from Grafton the hotel is stll located very near O’Connell street, Jervis street and only 15 minutes walk to Temple Bar.

We thank you for your review once again and we do hope you reconsider stayin with us again in the future.

Kind Regards,

Hello, I stayed at Maldron Hotel Parnell Square the end of July and it was absolutely fantastic! The hotel room was clean and comfortable and the service was great. I had never been to Ireland before and the staff were friendly and helpful on where to get transportation and what sites to see. At the front of the hotel there is a stand with all sorts of brochures for different sites and events. The hop on hop off bus stops just around the corner from the hotel which is really nice. The hotel has a restaurant which is reasonably priced and the FOOD IS FANTASTIC! The breakfast is 12 euros and if you purchase a voucher the night before it is 9 euros - for a scrumptious buffet! I will most definitely stay in this hotel in my future stays in Ireland. It is conveniently located about 5 min walk from O'Connell Street (just close enough and just far enough to keep from the loud hustle and bustle). It takes about 7 min to walk to Abbey Street where you can catch the LUAS and about 7 min walk to the Tourist Station where most of the tours leave from.

This hotel is very central, and advertises car parking, however there are very limited spaces and it costs €10 a night. Even though the hotel is in the middle of Dublin, there is nothing to distinguish that this Is an Irish hotel, this could any hotel, anywhere. It lacks charm and the bar/dinning area toilets had broken seats.
This would not be my choice of hotel to stay in on my next trip to Dublin

Dear Danny W,

Thank you for taking the time to post your review on tripadvisor following your stay.

I was disppointed that you were not impressed with the hotel during your stay.

I am currently working on getting the chairs and couches in the restaurant and lobby area recovered and repaired where necessary and I hope to have this completed very soon.

I do hope you reconsider to stay with us again in future.

Kind Regards,

Philip Uzice

It is a shame about this, as the rooms themselves are really good. However, if you want to eat here you should be aware that the coach parties they cater for get priority. Result is that you can eat what they are having or fend for yourself. The location is a bit from the centre of what is going on & the walk back after dark is a bit hairy if you are alone.
Staff generally ok, but if you are going to slag off guests, make sure they can't hear you.

Room Tip: Look elsewhere

Dear Jwr1972,

I was very disappointed to learn you did not enjoy your stay with us.

Unfortuneltly if a large group has booked the restaurant in advance we may be unable to take other tables during this block of time depending on the size of the group. We will however happily take guests for dinner before or after the advanced booking time, or assist with recommendations for restaurants close by.

I was extrmely upset to read the comment regarding the staff.
If you would like to discuss this further in order for me to investigate the matter fully please do not hesitate to contact me on puzice@maldronhotels.com.

Kind Regards,

Philip Uzice

Set in a good location unless you want to be near the trendier bar and restaurants in Temple Bar, this hotel is a nice walk into the Main Street. Room was lovely, neat and clean. We did not have breakfast so cannot comment. Hotel offers all facilities, in a neat package. Only fault is reception seems to always be undermanned. When we checked in only one person was manning the front desk, and this seemed to be a common occurrence throughout our two night stay, need to perhaps address this problem especially in busy check out and in times. We thought this hotel was of a very good standard we actually booked ourselves into the same chain in Cork. We did have one very negative point, we arrived back to find a suitcase in our room, it was not our suitcase, but belonged to a person from a tour. They had written down the wrong room number, when we took the suitcase to reception they were relieved to see it as they had totally no idea where it had been. The suitcase was unlocked so if we were not honest people we could have opened it. The women on reception did not seem to think this was a very big problem, but I am sure the owner, as we did, could see how it was a big problem. Think some staff training needed here.

Dear Joanne F,

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay on tripadvisor.

The team and I were delighted you found the hotel to be so convenient and comfortable.

The standard team on reception is a minimum of 2 staff at all times. I am not sure why this was not apparent during your stay but I will investigate the issue as I do not want to the team to be understaffed as I feel it will negatively impact the service we offer which is unacceptable.

With regards to the issue with the luggage full training was carried out immediately with all staff members and in particular with the staff member in question. I can assure you this was a once of occurrence but we thank you for your honesty and returning the case so promptly.

Once again I thank you for your review and we do hope to welcome you back to the hotel in the near future.

Kind Regards

Philip Uzice
