“Brilliant, accessible, comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2012

Ive stayed here twice and I have absolutely no doubt that I will stay again. The hotel is elegant, and yet welcoming. The staff is SUPERB - comfortable, open, friendly, welcoming and yet completely professional. They are aware of the small details, and thats appreciated when you travel, and are tired and just need to get some rest.

The parking lot is great (and free) ... wifi is free... and its within minutes of Grafton St and Temple Bar and all the attractions - but enough on a little side road that its actually quiet and calm.

I had several business meetings and meet ups here. They have a great lounge and restaurant, comfortable, quiet and accessible.

The only negative was the food - it isnt fabulous. I wouldnt bother with the breakfast or room service when theres so much good food to be had out there in Dublin. The management are aware of the dip in the quality of the food and are taking steps to rectify this, which impressed me.

All in all, I would come back here again and again. And I plan to! :)

Location of this hotel is excellent, as you are within easy walking distance to all the main attractions of Dublin. Yet it is nice and quiet at night, and this was really important to us. Executive rooms are very good, with everything you need, plenty of space, a comfortable bed, air-con, everything feels clean and modern. Room service breakfast arrived each day on time and exactly what was requested. Staff here were really friendly and helpful. Dined here as well on the first night, though there weren't many other diners, the food was really good. Staying here made our trip to Dublin extra special.

We stayed at the Royal Blu for a two night break for Valentines, and what a pleasure it was:) We chose the hotel after staying in one of the other Carlson group hotels in London at Xmas(The Plaza on the River - Club and Residence) and having found that a breath taking experiance thought we couldnt go wrong with choosing this hotel.
We were NOT disappointed!
Althought slightly hidden out of the way, in a slightly strange location, you are by no means, any distance from all the hussle and bussle of the shops and bars that you want when coming to Dublin. And it is all within a very easy 10 to 20 min max walking distance, during which you pass some fantastic little bars and cafes to sample the local black velvet:)
We had a junior suite with balcony looking out towards the castle in the distance. The rooms are amply sized with the most comfortable beds I think I have ever slept on!!! The rooms also have the biggest deepest, snuggle down to sleep sofa, along with dining table and office area.
the bathroom is exquisit with heated mirrors a wonderful deep tub and the luxury of a bath tub tv so you can soak the time away watching soaps in the soaps:) :) The only down side to the room I found was no alarm clock??? and no where apart from the wardrobe to hang your coat??
The staff and concierge were always smiling and extremely helpful. Breakfast each morning was a feast with everything that you could possibly want laid out for you. And should you want something specific non-menu cooking then the chef was more than happy to oblige.

A fanatstic hotel and a fantastic weekend! Would definately choose this hotel again, the manager even contacted us personally upon our return to make sure we'd had an enjoyable stay! Very good customer care!

Room Tip: The suites on the 6th floor and above have better views across the city

This is a central and comfortable hotel in Dublin, walking distance to Gaity Theatre, Grafton Street and Trinity College.
We ordered Room Service night we arrived were able to order from childrens menu which was more than ample food for us at bedtime and much cheaper
Ate dinner in the restaurant set table dhote menu had supplement charges and a glass of wine was nearly 6 euros
Breakfast had an excellent choices from carvery and there was a chef to cook anything extra such as porridge ,omelettes or poached eggs that you requested
There are no shops near this hotel i would advise to buy water if you need it to drink during night mini bar prices are very pricey

Room Tip: our room overlooked flats it was quiet

Friendly & Helpful Staff (unusually so)
Location a short walking distance from Stephens Green
Close to nice bars and restaurants
Breakfast with plenty of choice and good quality produce
Probably better for couples as opposed to family
