“First time in Dublin ”

We stayed at Kingswood hotel Dublin on the 7th and 8th of April 2015....hotel is out in the sticks. Hotel looked lovely inside.
We were allocated on the first floor at room134? overlooking the motorway or very busy dual carriageway. The windows and doors were shut but we can still hear the noise of the vehicles driving very fast.
The hotel rooms were decorated nicely, bed was comfy, nice bathroom but not the best shower though. Semingly it's a big hotel and many residents in the summer period but I don't know how their dining room can cope as we were there early spring not too busy but it looked like a congested breakfast room already with two staff working rushed of thier feet. We had to wait a while to get a table cleared up before we're seated.
Cooked Breakfast was good but the rest was very basic. Tasted like watered down juices.
Though staff were very good and efficient,
there was one who came asking to pay for my breakfast while we were eating as if we were gonna do a runner. Most hotels these days takes our passports and credit /debit card details for security reasons.

Nice hotel but I definitely not staying here again. Too far out. Cost a lot for taxi fares to go to city center. LOVE THE TALL LADY who served us in the bar. She's was lovely and very helpful.

Good price and good location for work at city west...not so good for city centre but a taxi ride or bus could get you there. Nice friendly staff. Food selection is basic but cooked well and beer selection may also be amiss. They were in the process of upping their star rating and opening up a restaurant in a vacant building next door which should offer more selection. Linited parking out front and underground carpark ( ask reception for a token when leaving). Rooms are clean and a good size.

We stayed here twice, completely by accident the second time as they changed the name of the hotel so we didn't realise it was the same place we stayed in before. At first we thought the hotel was average, the hotel is a lot further from the Luas than they told us it was, and nothing is really within walking distance despite what they say, you would need a car to enjoy your stay. The beds were comfortable, hotel is clean enough. But the staff are shockingly rude, the reception staff in particular. God forbid you ask any questions or even try make casual conversation while you check in, you will be greeted with a rude answer or no answer at all. They charged us twice for the room, when we noticed it on our bank statements we told them about it to be told it was our fault and that they made no mistake ?? It was such a hassle getting the money back and they were not apologetic what so ever. The staffs rudeness was enough to ruin our stay. Some rooms are noisy and the blanket at the end of our bed had a large horrible white stain on it ... Not something you want to be greeted with when u entwe your room. Will never stay here again !

I stayed here last Fri with my daughter as we were attending Disney on Ice at the Citywest Hotel. Excellent location for what we needed just off the N7 & only about 5min drive from the show in the Citywest hotel. The deal I got was almost half the price of the Citywest hotel and included breakfast-which was really nice I might add.the citywest hotel is too busy&noisy&the food is not good quality esp when big shows like Disney on Ice are on (stayed there last time we went to Disney on Ice).

the Kingswood doesnt have a pool but we got access to the Maldron Tallaght pool (just need to show room key;bring a padlock for lockers-not provided) which was only 10min drive away&right beside The Square Tallaght shopping centre which was great for shopping.Huge cinema there too.when we stayed at the Citywest hotel before we couldnt get access to the pool as apparently it needed to be pre-booked due to the crowds which resulted in a lot of disappointed kids.

our Kingswood room was facing the motorway but noise was minimal esp with window closed. When we arrived bar food was finishing at 5 &dinner menu not starting til 5.30.However, Mags on reception took our pizza order (&amended to do half&half)&delivered to the room even though they dont do room service (its normally 'order&collect').the food also arrived very quickly when I said we were rushing to a show. The pizza was average but my daughter liked it.The car parking was very secure-shutter system which needed hotel tokens to exit.

All in all this was a nice hotel &suited our needs perfectly.I would stay here again over the Citywest hotel.

I've stayed in this hotel a number of times over the last two years when travelling home from Dublin. It's excellent value for money for a number of reasons : bedrooms are modern, clean , and comfortable , really 4 star standard I think. Staff are very professional efficient, and friendly . parking is underground easy and secure. The bar and restaurant are small but adequate. If travelling to / from Dublin by car it's perfectly located particularly if travelling South : cuts out all the traffic in the morning . There is a Luas stop in kingswood also.

I use this hotel as second home due of the fact I work in the neighborhood. The staff is helpful and very friendly and provide an excellent service. Rooms are clean and the free fast Wi-Fi internet is an added value.

Guy

Room Tip: Rooms on the inside of the hotel are quieter than rooms on the N7
