“excellent hostel! gerat value!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2006

this hostel is in a great location 5 mins from grafton street/st.stephens green. the luas line is across the road from the hostel if your too tired (or lazy) to walk.

the first night we staed in an 8bed mixed dorm. there was 4 of us so 4other people would be sharing with us. in the end it turned out we had the room to ourselves as the hostel wasnt so busy. the next night we stayed in a 4 bed mixed dorm. this was en-suite. the shower was great. you need to bring your own towels. or else you can rent a towel for a euro or two. there is a tv in the room. beds are comfy. i haved stayed here 4 times because of price and loaction. for somewhere in dublin it is great!

there is a kitchen if you want to cook downstairs. also there is a dining area spearate from the kitchen which we used when we got a take away and ate in there and watched the tv.

i would stay there again the next time i go to dublin. everything is so close! it is clean place to stay and staff are friendly.

i booked through ---

Do not stay at this hostel when something else in Dublin is available! We booked a two night stay in a double room ensuite there and is wasn't acceptable at all. The bathroom had no storage, there was no possibility to put up towels, the floor was kinda rotten, etc. The only thing that was good was the power shower. The light in our room wouldn't work and we told the staff but nothing happened. Apropos staff: The rudest receptionists we've met in Ireland so far. There was a sign that said "Ask the friendly staff members", but they weren't at all. We didn't even get a real receipt after we had paid the full two days in advance.
The kitchen was disgusting. It wasn't cleaned up at all, the sink didn't work and there were only about 2 plates for the whole hostel. This is about it, but as you can see, it cannot get any worse. Try the Litton Lane or Isaacs instead and book a long time ahead of your stay so you don't end up in the Citi Hostel.
