“Lovely city hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

I found that all the staff in this hotel from walking in at reception too the staff around the hotel very friendly and helpful. We had a large clean and airy room with a double and a single bed for my step daughter. We also had a balcony which meant we could open the windows and let the breeze in which kept the room nice and cool. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice . There is a pool but be aware you do have to wear a swimming cap in Irish pools which we weren't aware of! You can buy them at the hotel but we weren't keen so didn't use the pool. The hotel is great if you are going to the O2 arena. It's about a 15 mins walk to temple bar. Would definitely visit again.

Parking for this hotel is a available in the Qpark site which is secure and only a 2 min walk from the main reception of the hotel (which you get for a discounted price of €12 per day). The rooms were spacious and we requested a view of the Liffey which we got. The room had a small balcony that faced the road but you could see up to the river at the top of the street. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. The hotel is located up beside canal quay but is only a 15 minute walk to the centre of the City for shopping etc

Id recommend this hotel and would book again for any other Dublin stays.

Room Tip: Request a view of the Liffey

I stay regularly at the maldron Cardiff lane on business. Its in a good location with the theatre and some nice bars in grand canal docks. Only a few minutes in a taxi to the city centre so close enough without being noisy from the late night bars.
The staff are excellent, always welcoming, friendly and very helpful and will try to accomodate you in any way they can. The Gym and pool is a real plus, 22m pool is great for a city centre and the gym has plent of cardio machines and classes you can join.
Rooms are a good size and always clean and tidy. The recent refurbishments in the lobby and bar also give it a more contemporary feel.

Room Tip: rooms away from the postal depot as can get some noise early in the morning.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

We just spent two nights at this hotel and were very impressed. Rooms were clean and well-equipped. We were upgraded to a Kingsize and had lots of space.
Bathroom immaculate. Bed enormous. We had a good two good nights' sleep. Very well-equipped gym and good size pool for a hotel.
Plenty to eat at breakfast and service is excellent.
It was a bit off-putting to see the handbag hooks in the mezanine bar with a sign telling you it is safer to have your bag in sight. However, better that than the upset of losing your bag! The hotel is opposite the Samuel Beckett Bridge and a short walk from the main sites and spots in Dublin. The only dissappointment was the riverside on an evening. At this part of the town there is little going on.
We would highly recommend a stay here.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

We, a small group, stayed at the Maldron combining a company business meeting with a stay in Dublin. The weekend was successful and this was largely due to the staff of the Maldron. I wish to particularly mention some names of the people involved in the actual booking. All of my enquires regarding various aspects were replied to and handled very professionally and quickly by; Agne Jakubauskiene, Sheila Enaya & Shauna Gillespie. It was these communications, together with T.A reviews, that convinced me of choosing the Maldon. We experienced the same type of service both upon our arrival and during our short stay i.e. no quibbles or delays and this was very important for us as our stay was short. Again – thank you to all concerned.
The meeting room – Penthouse Suite - in we which held our business meeting, was perfect for our needs. The bedrooms were very spacious, good lighting, good wi-fi, quiet, very clean and well kept. We had no complaints regarding A/C, but then consider the time of year and we were all “singles” occupying large double rooms. The Maldron is situated near the river and only a short walk away from the city centre, a very positive feature, as being away from the Temple bar area gives you peace at night. The bus from the airport, Airlink, stops on the opposite side of river which is only a short walk across the Samuel Becket bridge.
I can agree with other reviewers regarding the bar prices, but this is normal in most hotels. Should you wish for a optional quick drink in the vicinity; I can recommend The Ferryman pub at the corner of Cardiff lane & Sir John Rogersons Quay, note that this was a popular pub especially around lunch times and “after-work” afternoons.
As stated, practically all aspects of the hotel are very good, especially the staff including reception, bar & breakfast. We did not have the opportunity to use the pool and can therefore offer no feedback. Any negative remarks? - I personally wished for a better quality of the breakfast fare (i.e. sausages, bacon, juice etc.) but having said that, considering the price level of the rooms with breakfast – I am not sure whether I could have expected better.
All in all – recommended for both business & leisure.

Room Tip: Room 535 - spacious & quiet.
