Booked for 5 almost a week in advance. Arrived and seated at a table laid for 4, an extra chair and an extra place setting arrived some minutes afterwards. A small thing but it set the tone.
We were seated (upstairs) alongside a partition behind which dirty dishes were being cleared and scraped with what seemed like excessive force. Twice, three times during the meal items were dropped and glassware / crockery shattered. Again a small thing but it jarred.
Food when it arrived was good, nicely presented and good portion sizes. We waited almost 45 minutes between starters and mains. Eventually enquired with a waitress (we couldn't get anyone's attention so one of our group left the table to ask) and was told 'yes I know you are waiting , I have just been to the kitchen and your order is on the way'. Surely coming to the table to tell us that would have headed off the enquiry?
When we paid the bill there was an apology again as to the wait but it was also countered with 'oh so many people order steak tonight and that's the problem'.
I wanted to love the table as I live locally but it's a little too expensive IMO to have such teething problems and ill wait some time before trying it again.
